Electric Circus and Universal Mind Control qualify as bad, I think. (I'm actually seeing a bunch of positive reviews for Electric Circus, which I think has more to do with mainstream music media not knowing how to handle rap reviews at that point in history. Universal Mind Control was panned by everyone.) I'm pretty OK with The Dreamer/The Believer and Nobody's Smiling, though my expectations were very low.
I do love Common, though. I think he's produced one classic (Resurrection), one near-classic (Be) and a bunch of really good albums.
