Default LMS V Pre-Mag by Monk

~INTRO~
Wassup everyone first and foremost I'd like to say on behalf of the B-Boys.com Staff welcome to the Last Man Standing competition. You all are now a part of the site's biggest text battling tournament that takes place yearly. Over the period of time we have watched some of the most talented individuals pass through and pave their way to dominance. With LMS V in effect the competition is grittier and more challenging than ever.

With oldschool veterans like
Richard Corey, Loot, Fracture, Mic Booth, Ouch, Klepto, etc in the mix
the next generation of B-Boys is not to be taken lightly. Faces like Exkal, Hensley, Mercules, Mets, Deon, Kempo, Butler, and more have made their names elite among the legends. What makes the anti rise in this year's competition in particular is the joining of other sites bringing different variety of styles and wits to the table of punchlines. With all of that being said let's move on to what lies ahead for what you're battling for.

~Get Stacked~
So just to remind you all on how the money is being spread and to stop the confusion when it comes to winning your money the prizes are like this.
1st place:$500
2nd place: $100 (sponsored by BRL)
3rd place: $50 (sponsored by BRL)
4th place: $50 (sponsored by BRL)

Be sure to give props to Beats Rhyme Life for chipping in and helping out with the prizes it's nothing mandatory for them to do.

HISTORY OF LMS
LMS1
The Birthstone of Last Man standing took place on October 29th, 2001. The style and feel of battling back then was completely different but created diverse battlers nonetheless. The winner received a $500 dollar shopping spree at PSSL.com and the competition began.

The majority of the battlers in this LMS were B-Boys' very own and had some classic names as well as common such as Dod$, Richard Corey, Klepto, Tyson, Knowl, Mahatma, Wizerd, Natural Instinct, Forever Flowin, Blazin Caucasian, Weapon X, Sezsion, $cript ,T~R~E, Dockspitz and more..

In the end the final 4 came down to Knowl vs Tyson, and Blazin vs Natural Instinct. The finals came down to the home fav Tyson vs Blazin in which Blazin took the very first LMS title.

LMS2
LMS2 took place on April, 2002 many of the previous contenders were in this one as well with a sprout of new members that brought a different range of punchlines to the field. New names like myself (who made it to top 8 niggas what!!),Madness Money, Arcane, Tig, Pastor R.Y., Infinity, Pik4jaes, Incite, Raw Scientz, Massacre, Campaign, Shattered Dreams, Spems, and more came forth to the table.

In the end after the smoke cleared the final 4 came down to Wizerd VS Raw Scientz and Richard Corey vs Weapon X. The finals were between Wizerd vs Weapon X in which the much respected presently known Ben Grimm snatched the Second Title marking his name in the LMS Alumni.

LMS3
When LMS3 rolled around the typical veterans and a handful of new faces showed up ready to brawl for supreme bragging rights. Fresh meat was available for the old schoolers but some refused to go down without a fight. Sickhope, Peter Parker, Sick with it, Poizonous JK, Etherealplaque, In{O}vader, Nuclear Concepts, Excaliber, Status Quo, Metaphor and others all brought the gloves strapped.

In the end the final 4 was left down Veterans Raw Scientz vs Weapon x and Richard Corey vs Metaphor. In the end Scientz had the title almost in his grasp again and Corey was a inch closer from gaining but the finals were Weapon X vs Metaphor in which Weapon X took another title under his crown. The second win in a row showed heads X's previous win wasn't a fluke and that he could knock out the best of the best.

LMS4
Last Man Standing 4 was the best one from the past years but uncanny enough it's also been the most forgotten due it being erased when the site went down. But John Hensley took the title becoming the 4th LMS winner to take the crown for a year. The final 4 also consisted of Dynamix,Mets, and Classick.

TALE OF THE TAPES
Before I get into the breakdowns of my opinions I wanted it to be known that you all had the decision in who was ranked with their outcome. So if you weren't pleased at where you were placed at, don't be mad at the mods or the people throwing - be mad at yourself for those of you that didn't vote and "cheated". Nonetheless this competition is NOT about where you are it's how you deliver each round so bring your best thanks.
==========================================

1.Richard Corey vs 64.Chop Logic
Whether you love Richard Corey or hate him you can't deny the man's skill on both sides of the table with texting. His topical resume is deeper than most story tellers could imagine and at the same time can respect. His battling resume is even more impressive as he's held it down on numerous sites as well as b-boys own Weekly Battle League. So it's not a surprise to see RC at number one but will be able to establish and keep it throughout the tournament?

Not much is known to me about Chop Logic but his current record in the Weekly Battle League is 3-0 after defeating oldschool Klepto in a very disappointing match. The previous wins before it were both no shows so in other words Chop really will have to pull a buffalo drumstick out of his ass to pull a miracle on this match if he wants a chance at Corey otherwise this will be a slaughterhouse of roffles waiting to pour on his reputation.

i <3 to scrypt vs 33. Mic Booth
This match will be sick. I know booth doesn't like his ranking but on the bright side both of these guys are right in the middle. Nonetheless no one can deny there skill on delivery. I <3 to scrypt has a very humerous approach to his punchlines that we can all appreciate like his punchline used in the disabled peoples match with the pick of the armless Asian kid.

With Mic Booth I think his ranking wasn't as high as he hoped because he doesn't battle as often as he used to. Well that and I think the last time I seen him battle was when his girl broke up with him, But nonetheless when he was active and actually showed to his given battles the kid was a fury and could take you out if you slept on him. So I'm going into this match thinking it can be anyones day and with there being several days think of endless concepts on each other this match could be hard to vote on.

16.Ouch vs 49.Sonny Redz
Ouch has been ripping new assholes and suffocating more heads then chris benoit. When you battle ouch you better bring a grenade and a shotgun because you need explosive arsenal for this rooklyn hitter.Sonny Redz is well...sonny will be more vulnerable and easier to expose due to his reputation of being b-boys' laughing stock. But if we discredit Sonny's reputation on the site and look at him for his talents...well to some it's still laughable so this is looking like a straight shot for ouch unless Redz can make a nigga bleed.

17.Spit That vs 48.Automatic
Spit thathas been around a little while on this site and while he isn't the BEST battler he has one thing a lot of battlers don't have and that's determination. If he can come in swinging hard with the effort he usually pulls he can probably pose a big threat to his opponent. Automatic I know very little of but from what i have seen in his Weekly Battle League resume i would say this battle could in fact be closer than the ranks look which will make it a descent match for the voters.

8.Justify vs 57.Apartheid
I've heard nothing but good things about Justify and after doing some research i can see why the good remarks hold up it's weight. Dude has thread on verse of the week and punch of the week in one set Click here.As far as Apartheid i don't have much to go on about the cat since both battles I've seen from him have been no shows so i don't know what to really expect but i can say Justify will be just as ready as you are if not more. So if you are hungry let the feast begin fellas!!

25.Exkal vs 40.Molneef
Your friendly and crispy mod Exkal has signed up and is ready to rumble. Running the wbl now and having a past of being a pretty nifty battler Exkal won't have a problem keeping up with the competition. He's done it all between making songs, and even winning a audio battle competition on project rhyme.Molneef on the other hand i haven't seen do anything since...damn i can't even remember. But seeing the last battle i could find of him being in a three-way and winning around january has got to stand for something right ? So i think Exkal shouldn't sleep on the Mol Mol to the Neef or this could be a upset for the burnt parrot bawwwwk!!

9.Defcon 5 vs 56.Area 51
Defcon 5 is a underdog in my opinion dope in the eyes of a good amount but slept in battles more than anything. Between ripping heads endlessly on Project Rhymes Pic Battle league when it was running he also ripped a couple of people in my Gauntlet League that took place. Going into this match with Area 51 that i couldn't find a lot of dirt on who's only source was to getting sonned by shake zula in a top ten punches thread. This battle could be Defcons in his palms if Area has something im missing on and according to his place a lot of us are missing on.

24.Nique vs 41.V.Vega
Nique gets joked on a lot for looking like a female version of kenan but despite all of that girl's got skills. She's the current Rhyme League champion and has held her fair share of titles. Being a diverse writer alone makes her more of a tough competitor since she's able to switch styles on both sides of the table. I've seen V. Vega post seldom on here..since I'm on seldom with his 300 avatar and seen a couple of his battles he's not exactly bad but he can definitely improve and has enough time between now and next week to polish a solid verse against nique. So while the fingers might be pointed at nique to win she MIGHT have a stronger verse hiding under the cookie table...mmm cookies.

4.Shake Zula vs 61.Self Defense
Shake Zula is dope and reps VA WHAT!!! but on the real the guy is sick and has gotten his fair share of jobs and ko's from the veterans like Seszions, Fracture, Corey, etc over the period of time he's battled. Having a 4th rank seed in this tournament that has so much stacked competition says something about mr. Shake and if you don't find a way to get him he'll find a way to get you (god that was so gay!!!). With Self Defense...I..i dunno who you are...

29.Adolf Oliverclose vs 36.Surelock Holmes
I remember these two from the IBA both and have both been in the rhyme league. The funny thing is i have never seen either one battle in just a normal text battle so this can be a pretty even bout and well matched face off for the first round for each other. My only question for the winner of this and more so curiosity if anything is to see how either one will carry on as they advance on to a more heavy weight hitter. In the end just like every battle these two regardless will have to step up there playing cards and play them right if they want a shot at the cheddar. Good Luck fellas.

13.Ill-Nik A vs 52.E Tha Real

Ill-Nik A is a well rounded battle head and previously did well in his last tournament ran at rapmusic by making it to the Extreme Eight. Hailing from the site known as rap leagues Nik A has dropped some heavy heat on people and does exceptionally dope on pick battles. E Tha Real has been at a champ at the RBL, and has even poked his nose in the WBL for a short time league length. Either E tha Real will come out as a underdog and topple as the sleeper or Nik A could just walk out having an easy V for the first round.

20.Criteria vs 45.Philly®
I don't know a lot about Criteria but kempo and some others didn't say bad things about him and he's from rapmusic. Philly has been in the Picture battle league like others as well and was on a nice streak last time I remember. If philly plays his cards right he could have a shot at criteria this could be a sick battle if both show up with the A game.

5.Butler vs 60.Wordz Ahgod
Butler is raw, tough to battle with and a one of the few that barrel through anyone he's up against. He's had many accomplishments but has yet to put the LMS tournament under his trophy case. Being the current WBL champ and still rolling through it like a breeze it's not a no brainer to see why butler is ranked at a pretty number 5. To be honest i don't know who Wordz is but I'm not gonna be quick to knock him out yet. Actually i am gonna be quick to knock him out real quick i think this will be a slaughter and don't act like y'all don't feel the same way. SHOCK US WORDZ!!

Tale of the Tape Cont'd.

28.Headless Verseman vs 37.Styk Figer
With all the beef aside with this guy Headless is a very talented writer. His topicals are always polished for the most part and I've seen him excel in that rather well and I haven't really ventured into his text battles but from word of the mouth I heard he's pretty vicious when he wants to be and that doesn't surprise me. Either way this doesn't count up for the fact that I don't know who in the gods name of hell Styk Figer is. Who is this guy ??? he's ranked 37 though...fuck!! Well I won't count him out as being wack because he's not exactly in the bottom hole of shit heads with no skills or is he??? hmmm this could be interesting.

12.Mercules vs 53.Ender
Mercules has a taste for what's fresh in both aspects of the writing scene. He's proved to be a recent topical contender in the rhyme league but his battle resume is what's more impressive and makes him a tough contender for anyone in the LMS. Ender is definitely a dope topical writer he's even beating me 1-0 in the survivor league on wsyr but I haven't seen him battle with punches and neither have a lot of people. Not to say he isn't dope but with the other alignment of people signed up they just overshadow him and several others so ender is gonna have to flip his skill for one week and change his whole perception if he wants a shot at a type of writer that can deliver on both sides of the table.

21.Roger Glocks vs 44.Mount
Roger Glocks was a part of my gauntlet earlier this year and delivered pretty solid through proving to be a consistent battler. He's lately been ripping it up on Beats Rhyme Life and will be hungry for crippling his opponents.Mount is new to me but has a pretty solid record in his WBL trail by having a record of 7-2. With his recent loss in the contender's match I wouldn't count Mount out and giving him the L as this match will be in my opinion more close than most people will think. This won't be as lopsided as some of the other battles and could be one of the more balanced punch offs for the first round definitely peep this one.

2.John Hensley vs (?) R key
What more can be said about John Hensley but that he's simply one talented motherfucker. Coming from the same clique as Butler, John has beaten some of the BEST talent around all the boards and earned his paid dues. Between winning the last LMS his competition doesn't get any lighter and his test to see if he can carry the longevity of his skill will come into question. R key I haven't seen battled but he makes me laugh a lot and is a cool cat, but he will definitely will need to pack some heat and fire blazing bullets when sparring with the hens, but I think he knows that and will deliver some dopeness for us this week.Overall on this one if Hens comes on point it might be a difficult rope to climb but it's not impossible and anything can happen.

(?) Germz vs 34. 87 Fresh
Germz is a ugly little black boy haha jk. Kid has some dope concepts on the battle table and knows what's hot what's not. I still feel Germz can be more polished then he is but nonetheless when he's having a good day he can be a tough little skater kid to get off your back. 87 Fresh I didn't know much of until I saw him blessing my site on PR with the best porn on the planet. But from the word on the street my sources tell me 87 fresh is just like Germz and when he's on point he can be dope but can have mediocre moments. SO, i think im gonna take this as a Lupe Fiasco vs Larry Flint and say it's gonna be another well balanced battle with whoever is feeling it more.

15.Properhops vs 50.Bayou
Properhops is sick, and is one of the newer generation battlers on the scene that a lot of heads can say has skill. With winning the past Tag Team Competition with HDVM, Proper can hold his own solo just as well with his original twist to personals and creative style. Seems the further i get into this more and more I'm not knowing who some of these people are much like Bayou. You could be the next jesus of texting or the next Jenna Jameson of sucking the big one a little too hard so take this battle as a "DAMNNNN UPSET!!" or "Bla...I could have told you this shit".

18.Loot vs 47.Ryan Dooley
Loot has been gone from the battling scene for the while in the sense that he hasn't been as active in that department. But people still know the impact of his damage that he's created in the past and that is why he still has a much respected 18 as a ranking. I was a little surprised to see Ryan Dooley so low but then again the more I think about it he's always been more of an audio person to me since being in my former clique "Kick the Kan". On the mic dude has some skill but on the texting I don't have enough knowledge. Either Ryan can win with this with Loot's rustiness that could possible come out in this battle (or not). The rankings say crush but I say closer then you think.

7.Gunslinger vs 58.Mad Sci
The man they call Gunslinger is a risky battler. He's dope for the fact he doesn't mind trying new things with his punches and seeing if it works on the voters. But don't let that fool you his record in the WBL isn't 10-4 for no reason with one loss being for the fact he wasn't feeling it lol. One thing is sure when he is feeling it people seem to like what he brings to the table and that can be tough his opponent Mad Sci that i know NOTHING about.

26. N.Tavarez vs 39.Hood Heffner
I only remember Tavarez From the Tag Team competition and he wasn't really that bad but not necessarily the BEST from the teams reppin. But just because he didn't work well with others doesn't mean he can't whoop your ass solo style and that's where his cards come into play.Hood Heffner should have been a little higher but that's just how the sticks are pulled sometimes and it's up to him to show he can be higher than a 39 - not anyone else. If Hood comes wanting to win (which I'm sure he will) then he can pull an edge on Tavarez in my opinion, but if Tavarez does come on point (which is likely) then this will be a tough one to judge.

10.Deon vs (?)Liquid Scopion
Deon better known as the former Hot Dog Vendor Man has been around a little while. Winning the Tag Team competition with his homeslice properhops that's also competing Deon has his moments. He fell short in the gauntlet not really being able to find his touch but quickly rebounded and started his streak again on b-boys and other sites. Deon isn't scared to try something new on you and make it work which is why Liquid Scopion will need to come HARD. I saw his recent battle with the no show to Alzwirds and if that's all he can do he might as well throw in the towel and bend over because this could get nasty.

23.Kempo vs 42.Rhymeageddon
Former WBL mod Kempo is the b-rated version of David Lama. Guy seems to have his nose in anything text battle related these days and helps mod a forum on Beats Rhymes Life. Kempo was in the gauntlet and had a mediocre run and made it to the playoffs having an overall accomplished experience. Rhymeageddon has been MIA for a minute and I can't even remember the last time I've seen him battle but from what I remember he wasn't bad so this might be another tough one to judge. But with Kempo knowing what's hot these days I have a feeling he might be pulling ahead unless his opponent has some things planned we don't know about.

3.Grip vs 62.D-Kom
Despite Grip having anal leakage all over my forum from his rank on the tag team tournament and leaving due to it, Grip is a skilled battler. Coming from rap leagues this T-rev look alike definitely will make you look stupid if you don't try on him. D-Kom Lube the condom extra smooth if your gonna bend over otherwise come full force and give him everything you have it's your only way out this alive.

30.Te Ora vs .(?)Realism
I don't know much about these two unfortunately but thanks to my sources Te Ora seems to have some potential on his side other then his opponent that goes by Realism that me and others know nothing really about. Hopefully this match won't get slept on since both names aren't really big..or at least from my understanding good luck fellas.

14.Fracture vs 51.Chrit
One of b-boys home favorites Fracture is a hungry competitor he will eat your children to its true. But on a real note Fracture is gonna be on the prowl for this competition. It's the one tournament on the site he and many others want to have for braggin rights and this will definitely give him that. He's had classic battles with Richard Corey that many won't forget and that have stood test the time. When you can do that all I gotta say is Chrit keep your butthole tight son because thing could get very unpleasing to the eye if you come weak sauce.

Tale of the Tape Cont. pt2
19.Resin M-I-C vs 46.Mike V
Despite his surprising rank Resin is a name you know regardless if you text battle or, not his reputation have proven successful. When the tag team tournament started a lot of people demanded that there be random teams JUST so he couldn't team up with his boy sezsions so that's saying something.Mike V on the other hand i've known for a minute and has mad determination and improved a lot over the years from where he first started but still this isn't Pee Wee's playhouse to compete with resin he needs to take his time these next couple of days thinking out his verse so it can even qualify to give him a chance.

6.Mets vs 59.Prycele$$
Mets is one big pasty bastard and a guy I wouldn't wanna snap on in person. Literally guy wears a size "juggernaut bitch" in underwear but on the real Mets is sick and oddly enough i've found out he's a dope topical contender as well making him a versatile writer. With mets being named one of the few to win in the bunch of stacked battle fiends Prycle$$ has his work cut out for him going against the butter bean of texting.

27.Phryme vs 38.Mark Blaze
If Phryme shows up to his battle with Mark Blaze this will be a cutthroat battle as the reach in punchline adjustments measure that there but not overly out skilled than each other. This will be a fresh match as they're already somewhat talking shit to each other so I can see this having some flare to it.

11.Classic vs 54.Phil Benjamin
If there is one thing I know for sure money can do it's make anyone come back from the grave.Classic's been a busy man but even being busy is never to good to let go off when money is on the line. I'm sure a lot of people are excited to see if classick still has his touch which I'm sure he does I doubt he will disappointed. Phil Benjamin sounds familiar like it's a name i've known for a little while from this site...am I wrong? is this a dream ? am I getting delusional like delz from writing to much ? OMG!!!...i can't remember how good you were but 54 tells me something Either way good luck with your match and hope classick has Alzheimer's.

22.Square vs 43.Lucos
Ok last but not least is this match and ironically it's the one match that's gonna get the shortest review because I don't know jack SHIT about who Square is and I'm going with him just for the fact Lucos holds the Guiness Book of World Records for no showing in battles. But don't take it wrong I'm hoping you do show because I wanna see a battle happen just like everyone else. Good luck to both.

Closing Comments
Alright we are at the end of the road and it was fun doing this mag hope you all liked it. Just wanna say it's up to everyone to show up and do their part to vote and bring their A-game to make this tournament live up to the past LMS events that have taken place. It's anyones ball game and anyone can win just because your not ranked higher then the next man doesn't mean you can't win and that's how you gotta look at this. I wish the best of luck to everyone and be sure to give props again to the people contributing their time and prizes to give to you all.
