No. I mean she constantly poses in magazines and promotes herself both through her skill, personality and looks. But Ronda Rousey is more famous than any of them. She's done better to promote herself. People who have and will never watch an MMA match on TV saw the Vine of her latest fight. And they saw her photos. And they've heard her name. And they've seen her taunts toward Floyd Mayweather.

She's bigger than female MMA ever will be and has a broader appeal than MMA (male or female) ever has had. You can't make yourself bigger than your sport unless you promote yourself.

I agree with you on those notes, I just don't attribute all of that solely to self promotion. Those opportunities were largely provided for her because of the UFC's promotional push, which they are stingy with. Miesha Tate was in the Body Issue as well, and does a shit ton of modeling gigs, but nobody knows her because she's not the champ, and therefore gets very little support from the UFC hype machine.

Rousey's best promotion is her performance. I def agree that she is bigger than the sport, and that she is an exceptional self promoter.
