Welcome fellas. Props on a good week one. Most of you showed and showed welllll. Some of you are STILL ghosting, stop that! All you dudes who come here to socialise needs to get on the wave also. Fuck it, you're posting anyway. What the fuck is 8 lines? Come on, man. I'm not gonna write alotta shit here because my man Hush came through with a better intro this week. If you're not mentioned that means you haven't impressed yet! Week 2 is your time maaan. Check it out below. Also, I don't wanna read no fucking Keaton Jones punchlines this week. You guys have been well and truly warned. It's minus 2 votes for a Keaton Jones line. Make it 3 if you turn it into a wordplay (good lord Barcotic, don't do it bro).






Previews: Week 2




Destroyer 1-0 vs Swerve 1-0

Destroyerrrr vs Swerve. Okay. Both are actually pretty similar to me actually. By that I mean that they kind of deliver their bars in the same way. Not really multi focused. More statementish, but it stills hits. I think now Destroyer can beat probably anyone on his best day. He's improved quite a lot. Swerve has been a problem since B-Boys. This is close as fuck. Maan. I'll go with Swerve. He beat a good competitor last week in Infiltration and I think his tail will be up.

Barcotic 1-0 vs Cred 1-0

Dope match up here. Cred has been doing well in the NBL these past few seasons. The acceptance of gun bars as dope made him a real problem but the thing is if his verse is full of the shit then it gets repetitive. Keep it to one or two a verse and he's laughing. Bar has been mired in controversy over the past couple of years for whatever reason but it's never in doubt that he's a top competitor. He drops consistently and is reliable. Once he doesn't drop a lot of wordplay I think he wins. I'll go with Bar in a close one.

Allen Knight 1-0 vs Infiltration 0-1

This is another sick battle. Damn I'm good. Again I think both have pretty similar styles in some ways. Both are very creative but sometimes wording can be rushed from both -- not bad, just rushed. I think AK is a little less rusty than Inf and will take the win. Inf can get it though if he doesn't over complicate the fuck out his verse. That's what kills him.

Defiant 1-0 vs Chyeahhh!! 1-0

Defiant is okay. He's been consistently okay for 10 years now though. Chyeahh has been doing much better and has a raw style that I fuck with. I think if he takes a little more time on the execution of his bars he can step it up another level and really be a problem. Defiant is just lazy. I think Chyeahh wins here.

ill nik-A 1-0 vs Killing Spree 1-0

Killing Spree is from RB where he's been stuck in a neverending circle battling the same 4 people for the last 3 years so this is a new challenge. He's got some good concepts and just needs to steer clear of the RB statement style of wording. Harshness kills, man. Use it. Nik is Nik. Now a Hall of Famer, he's been around forever and been good forever. His verse that he sent me last week was nice & being last season's champ he's shown no sign of rust. I can't see anything but Nik here. Would like to see KS drop fire though.

Schadenfreude 1-0 vs Victor. 1-0

Probably gonna be battle of the week. It depends on whether or not the boy Vic takes his time. I know these days he drops whatever the fuck he wants and usually wins. I don't know if that will cut it this time. Schad is more cunning. He has spent a lot of time perfecting his wording and adding that swagger to it that NC's voters love. I think that Hush will probably get high as fuck and slack off a little bit and it may allow Schad to sneak the win. Let's see. Looking forward to it.

Alvin Karpis 0-1 vs Wrath 0-1

Karp dropped pretty damn good last week after a loooong hiatus so that's a positive sign. He doesn't have too much rust considering. His battle vs Barc coulda went either way and was probably BOTW. As for WRATH, I feel like he may be new to the NC text scene as his style is more audio friendly. He can definitely hang, though. Just needs to be a little more creative with the concepts and execute them in a harsher way. At this moment I feel like Karp will have to much for WRATH.

For Battling 0-1 vs Innovator 0-1

Zelph dropped pretty dope last week. I actually done him a disservice by closing the battle early. I honestly didn't realise there were only 2 votes in the difference so I apologise for that. It's dope to see Zelph take text a little more serious after years of fucking around because he can definitely write some bars when he wants. As for Inno, it's dope to see him in the NBL. He's doing some great things in the AOWL and if you should check that out if you get the urge. He's making the transfer to text and that always takes time. My advice would be to read some battles from the top dudes. Study what they say and how they say it. Take a little bit from each of their styles and then create your own and you'll be great. At this time I think Zelph will out gun the boy Inno.

DMVsToneB 0-1 vs Habitat 1-0

Tony showed alotta rust last week and I don't think he was happy with the loss. I believe he posted some passive aggressive stuff afterwards which never goes down well. He's been outta the game for a long time so my advice would be just to remain patient and keep the pen moving. Don't get frustrated. We're here to write and compete. Can't win every week. Habitat had a decent enough verse last week. Sucks that he was noshowed even after a double extension. I think both battlers are out to prove something this week so it's gonna be a really interesting one. My money is on Habitat due to the fact he has been much more active recently.

Aero vs Choice Wordz

The man. The myth. The asian. Aerooo. Welcome back, mate. Good to have you. Aero has become something of a polarizing figure in recent times because I haven't been here to protect him. I'm here now, buddy. Nah but to be honest I think he became victim to his own persona. Man's got bars. Choice Wordz I don't know who that is. Could be an alias but he seems awfully polite to have been here previously. I got Aero, can't predict what CW is capable of. (Don't use a CW, Arrow flip).

Larkin vs Smash

Larkin was on the original Netcees and was pretty dope back then. He was HOF on Goldmic (I think). I know you fuckers don't care about that but lads listen it means he can write. Simple. I'm looking forward to seeing what he brings this week and whether or not he will be rusty. Smash is another RB head who decided to jump ship (about time) and compete with a higher caliber of battler. I respect that. I think he's pretty decent from what I remember but it's been a while. I'm not sure what to expect here from either so it's a toss up. I'll go with Larkin.

bleak vs E Tha Real

bleak was ran off the site I believe. I can't remember? He says he beat me in a tournament in 2015 but that was 2013. Lovely. When people remember 4 year old wins then you know you're one of the best. Anyway, E Tha Real is an oooold head. RM/B-boys maybe. I'm not sure. Feel free to enlighten me. He was pretty dope back in the day. I think E will win but who knows bleak beat me. Somehow. Apparently.

Unfukwitable vs Ghost1

Sleeper heat right here. Unfuk is actually a really top tier guy on Letsbeef. Not sure if you dudes know that. He's won the biggest tournament on that site recently. I think it hurts him a little bit over here though because it chops up his wording at times because they tend to stretch shit out over there. He's dope, though. I respect him for coming here. Ghost is dope. Not sure if he wants to be an alias or not so I'll say nothing. This will be dope if both come correct. I'll say maybe Unfuk could take it because Ghost hasn't battled in years. I think.

Profit vs Mr J 0-1

I think Profit is new. He seems keen. Not sure what he's about. Mr J is still getting used to this format. He should really check out some archived stuff and have a look and what is hot. Learn how to formulate a punch that is considered hot. He can write and he's funny so it won't take long for him to improve exponentially. Either way, I got Mr J taking this one.
