An Interesting Star I Saw
Aaron Rodgers ‘the GOAT’ had the least passes this year with under 4 seconds to throw, only attempting to throw with under 4 98 times. The other 2 spots were DeShaun Watson, who had the worst Oline this year, and Patrick Mahomes, who had the most 20+ yard completions. Aaron Rodgers also came second in deep attempts.
Why is all this important? Because it caused allot of throw aways and sacks do to him not attempting short passes and small gains which got open by play design. Instead he tried to find someone open longer down the field, but didn’t have enough to throw so got sacked. This is why most people, even at PFF, say his grading and passer rating is inflated and doesn’t show how well he played. Namely because they don’t grade sacks they grade passes. So a play where you failed to find someone open and took an unnecessary sack won’t count for your grades. |

Thought this was a chyeaah thread
But yea i mean none of the atual factors of playing football are ever looked at. Its why nerds dont understand flaccos greatness. Time in the pocket/under pressure, quality of targets, changes in systems and plays year in year out etc
