quincy jones is the GOAT

also i don't know if i asked you, but mk3 or studio? pulling the trigger this weekend. the mk3 is newer, seems to have different features, the studio has more dedicated buttons and shit though, but its older, and i fear i'll buy it and a week later they'll announce a studio 2 releasing lol. but word you're familiar with the maschine so what do you think. they all use the same software so im guessing it aint gonna matter much.

Read the whole interview, didn't know Richard Pryor went both ways like that. Never dug into his personal life though, always be one of the best comedian to me so its whatever.

Word. Only reason im kinda leaning mk3 is the built in interface. I record vinyl through the mpc now, when i record it through my little m audio interface its staticky amd wack. But realistically i need a usb turntable anyways, i just got a regular one with rca outs.

Bout to just cop the studio and see whats up with it. It comes with komplete select right?

800

the mk3 is 600

i looked into it and it comes with komplete "select". (studio at least, im sure the mk3 does too), the upgrade to ultimate is still 1000. i was thinking it would be alot cheaper wtf. but i guess ultimate by itself is 1200 so it knocks 200 off if you have select which comes with it.

so in reality im basically going to have to get everything new

studio - 800
ultimate- 1000
kontrol25- 300
ATLP120 turntable - 300

but i know once i have all that new shit im gonna want a new interface and monitors too. i dunno. im in no rush. just gonna grab shit a piece at a time

also i didnt realize there was a middle "normal" komplete. thats probably why i was confused. i seen the upgrade to ultimate at 500 bucks, but thats if you are upgrading from komplete itself, not komplete select.

but word i think im gonna go full on native instruments shit. try and start finally playing shit over samples. the kontrol intrigues me

hoping the 25 is enough for simple shit. the backlit keys, built in showing scales and chords, as well as making each key a chord being an option just makes it less daunting to finally figure that shit out

I think I have Komplete 9. I'm tempted to just mail you the hard drive and have you register it to your pc with my log in info. I have it on my pc and two different laptops. I don't think i'd get popped doing it.

it might work off ip addresses, if it picks up your serial in ohio it might raise a red flag i dunno tho

im not sure what was added in 10 and 11, im sure its just more vst instruments and packs

same with "ultimate" its just extra shit on top of the regular version. like the select version is only a select few of the regular version

but i just read that the hard drive it ships with is only to install it onto your own hard drives, like you cant use it as a hard drive?

i'ma have to get a new big ssd if i do end up going the ultimate route. but i probably should for all my music shit anyways. right now my hd's are a jumble of games, music production shit/samples, porn, and nonsense software lol. if i get another hard drive i'll be able to dedicate them

Just checked I have 9 Ultimate. nah can't use it as a hard drive, which I always thought was bullshit. I run it off a portable HD. I got 6 externals with shit all over them lol. But for the most part I run everything off of one internal and one portable.
