The trick is the winner of the first battle gets to decide a rule for the blue battle (Gunbars only, swag n flow, pics, etc)

I'd co-run a short (6 week) league and supply the actual mags in like a month if someone else did the procedural crap (records etc)

Tourneys are problematic imo

People dropping out, lose interest, stop following, stop voting, and it's a painful march to the end

League with a final four of battles at the end is our best bet imo. Topical heads had their league that got Mike wrecka a champed from points alone. Oughtta base anything on that model
