I've been considering creating a decent tournament platform for a while just never gotten around to it (I do website shit).

It would probably take me ~4-8 months to get something solid going with the time I have.

the basic goal would be to automate and clean up a lot of it. make it more of a tournament feel, modern, rather than posts on a forum that people have to do a bunch of manual shit for.

things could include: blind voting (can't see who posted which verse), votes that don't reveal the "breakdown" until after the voting is complete, a majority of modding things automated (setting up battles, no-show reminders, voting reminders, cleaning up, etc.) probably still need mods though... ability to create leagues (so it's not just exclusively to aowl that's just all I care about and therefore it'd be designed with that in mind). I'm sure I had other specific ideas but nothing is coming to mind rn.

atm I don't have solutions to attracting new writers (other than the quality of the site making it easy to word-of-mouth it to people active users know in the scene).

"archive" isn't really something I care about as a primary purpose, but I could implement something for individual users to establish their own archive, after MVP.

highly creative "mags" would still depend on admins, but I can identify some of it being automated relatively easily if users are active. also not MVP, though.

This one isn't too hard. Need social media accounts tho, post screens of good writtens and battles on Instagram with some tags and people will come along slowly but steadily. Video mags on YouTube, post it up on channels for hiphop and wherever people are freestyling in voice channels.

The difficulty for the future will be keeping them, shit needs a different morality or code in your vision, and what's ok/what isn't unless you want another NCs with the same 10-15 heads arguing and fucking with RIP-threads. You'll make some OGs hate you by doing so but the site will be healthy and a place for the next gen of text to grow.

Another issue to overcome is the usage of AI and how to combat that. The days of pure concepts and ideas from people minds is diminishing little by little, so I'd also look into AI tools to recognize the usage of them unless you'll allow that going forward.

The site is black and white - I code from a functionality first, design later mindset.

Be advised of a few things:

• You can do nothing right now except take ownership of your name. Contact me here if there's an issue (i.e., someone takes your name before you), and I can fix whatever.
• If you don't add a username to your account, you aren't able to be searched. You can do this from the lil' figure icon. Until you add a username, it greets you as your email (but only you can see this on the site).
• Use an email you're comfortable with me knowing - I think I've been here long enough for y'all to know I'm not a dick, but bear in mind I'll be able to see emails.

Right now, the writing tool is in progress - it will be bare bones to start with to implement some stuff. ETA is the end of the month to allow users to (1) write and save content, (2) view other user profiles, (3) read other users writing that is marked as public, and (4) some automated things to prevent abuse.

At the end of the day, I'm not going to replace netcees. I'm going to build something to supplement it.
