i got two kabar's
the first one was a gift from my pops but i wasn't sure on its authenticity since he got it from a pawn shop last year when he took a trip out west. but its legit, the sheath isn't. i recently grabbed an all black one too, with a black case/sheath but i hate it. gonna cop something custom. can't carry these or anything so its weird to complain about but i don't like the black ones cuz it is hard plastic and the knife kinda clicks in, and you gotta use a little force to get it out. i've had random knives and shit forever but just shitty folding ones and such. spyderco and other shit. but the simplicity and terror at the thought of what a simple kabar can do it reminds me of holding a gun lol. i get almost that same gut feeling. sure you can open a can with it and cut ropes for tents and shit, but the intent of it being made to be used on humans almost seeps out of it. but word since then amazon recommendations are always popping up for different knives and swords/axes etc. im surprised by how cheap everything is tbh. but im not big into the world of blades.

I got a kill bill replica. Its not too fancy but it's a good imitation. Solid build. I was looking for authentic but if I pay over a G for it I want to know it's the best of the best.

Sup uhoh. Kabar bk2 was my first fixed blade and was a beast. Also had the military one till the tang broke during some batoning. I got out of 1095 after that. Strictly 5160 and sr101 in fixed blades, short swords, sv35 in folders. Got a karambit in 5160 coming in today shit is sick. Really wanna get an infi katana in Busse

If you want a bad ass legal carry in 3.5 id opt for the cold steel ak47. Old gens have the Aus 8 steel which is good steel, new ones have cv35 I think. It's a folder, but the locking mechanism gives you the strength of a fixed and has great deployment, non assisted. I batoned the shit out of the gen 1 years back and the lock never budged.

regarding the fetish, never enough it seems, almost like guns which is another one of mine lol. The quench for a fetish is never ending. Thing is, a blade is like a gun that never runs outta bullets if you know how to use it. I may have spent a lot of money on blades but it's quality over quantity, I invest in shit that's gonna last. A good non production sword can go for like 500-2000 and up so shit can get expensive

And now, thanks to Rosco barrels expanding into the general market after doing oem manufcaturing for so long, you can get a high quality barrel for like 150 bucks. Meaning you can build a good quality AR for like $400-500. Or a cheap AR for less. Congrats...you're fully armed for a stack. Get the ink later and spend the money on guns and ammo. #murica _ _ _ On topic. I buy knives all the time. I cut things for a living so... I buy a new folder once or twice a year, a new fixed blade at least once a year. I don't generally own many expensive knives anymore. If I could afford it, I would collect them. Knives are beautiful to me, and I love the feel of well crafted work. But I use every knife I own, and I haven't ever used a high cost knife who's performance justified the cost over other knives. I can fillet a fish as well with a forschner/victorinox as I can with a shun. And the Forschner is easier to mantain and a lot more forgiving if you drop it. I've owned kershaw, schrade, victorinox, mora's, sog, bradley's, tops, buck, gerber..etc. Basically, most of the major brands, and a bunch of customs from private makers. The knives that have become known as good quality "budget knives" have lasted the longest. The Mora is a 15 dollar knife of the god's. wtf. I had a schrade fixed blade go from Alaska glaciers and forests, to chopping keawe in Hawaii. And that is super hard wood. It outlasted my more expensive knives. Had a buck snap and a tops chip out on the edge durng the same amoun of time. Had to trash it since tops only edge hardens. The actual cutting performance n the schrsde sucked though. And I had a folder that cut really well from them, but it fell apart. Cheap knives...but you trade for that cost. There are really good budget knives out there now days I guess but I haven't used them. I'll get me an expensive knife one day, but I no longer see the need in them. Every knife I've owned thst was over 150 dollars was trash. No matter whther they were bought from custom makers or off the shelf. I think this is more a result of quality levels rising than those knives being poor kives. They were all well made, but quite frankly, Victorinox outperformed every Shun and Wustoff that I have ever owned in the ktchen/restaraunt or fish/game processing. Buck and Mora have outperformed every hunting/belt/bush knife I have ever owned. The Buck open season series and Mora companion, respectively. The other side of this coin is that really cheap knives are most often, really shitty. If you're talking swords, that's a whole nother thang... I'm about to start making my own shit. Gonna be dope.

There's a place called Scheel's out here...it's a one stop shop for all redneck needs. Guns, ammo, knives, sports hats and jerseys, energy drinks, beef jerky, animal calls, there's even a Ferris wheel for kids.
Anyway, I bought a pistol there and they had some really nice blades there. They can get pretty expensive, but I don't know enough about blades to make a smart purchase. After I sold my gun I've been really wanting a good blade that keeps it's edge...but again, I don't even know what direction to even go in.
