Champ Match: Sn00p 5-0 vs Muff 4-2

This was a pretty good battle, was close. but still a clear winner, snoop was alot more personal here, he had some fire that wondered wat got into bar was dope the foriegn bar was good too, muff had some good generics which hit but not as hard as personals, tbh.
the grey goose bottle line was fire foreal. This was a good read & i enjoyed it also the voters.

Fire. Sn00p had the benefit of all of those personals to use of Muff and he didn't waste them at all. The personals gave him a huge edge and he did not waste it. Muff came pretty dope as well but all those personals were just enough to handle the wordplay he brought. The verses were sick but in the end, being personal gave Sn00p the edge. If Muff could bring his level of creativity and wordplay to personal info he'd be the guy to beat on NC tbh.

Contender Match: john hensley 2-0 vs Knucklehead 2-1

this was a dope battle both had bars, knuckle heckler bar was dope & Arya was slick.
knuckle had some quality gun bars & shit but hens came out swinging too. His Padding Stats line was crazzy & casino bar was fire, hen was pretty creative when it comes down to it & was a lil more consistent here. Def a battle worth reading or re-reading.Hens took it 6-2

Close one here that really could've ended up going either way but the voting populace ended up saying that John got it. Knuck's been on the gunbar ship lately and that might've been his undoing. The gun bars weren't entirely effective compared to Hensley's normal style and J Hens goes onto to the contender match.

Wanderer 3-3 vs Destroyer 1-3 (Pics)

This was a decent battle. Wanderer is still tryna get his style down & work on wording
he had acouple of lines the shifty was lol, des had a real consistent verse some misses but not really alot imo. Flower print was funny as fuck & combover was Lotb an leaned me. I think des should do alot more pic battles cuz hes good at them...maybe start a pic league.Props to both here.

This was cool, Wanderer is getting his feet wet while Des is getting back to his roots. I like both as battlers but both have their issues, but Des is just the more experienced pic battler and it's defintely his strong suit. Props to Wanderer for trying something new but Destroyer just brought it which was refreshing.

murda sho 2-1 vs Burd 1-3

For being sho's first pic battle he did pretty good tbh, bitch in sheep's clothing was dope & arms over shoulder was heat, solid verse overall. Orc drop dope here tbh Blacker Denim, square peg, wiz bars were all fire. Yea this was a dope ass battle after reading it.
The voters thought orc took it. But props to both for puttin on a show.

Dope and while everyone said it was close Orc took this one by unanimous vote. This was apparently Murda's first pic battle n his style transitioned nicely, had some creative flips against a pic battle veteran which is not easy. Orc just had it together, I think he's out to undo the damage of his 1-3 start.

Zelphish 2-1 vs Lotto Smirk 2-1

This was an ok battle, nothing crazy here. Zelph needs to work on concepts
alot of his are played & that hurts his verses but he got his wording down. Lotto
has nice concepts but rough wording. this was a hard one to judge..lotto had the turn ur back on ur own bar which def was lotb & the voters gave the dub to lotto 5-2 in a close one.

This was tough to read, both had their issues with wording and it came down to preference. Wording's been an issue for both but Lotto had the more creative concepts by far. Zelph had better wording but the concepts weren't there and Lotto got the edge in votes.

this one wasnt close, spaz had missses in his verse & alot of almost,
he needs to sit an re word his verses or go read old battles. Cred had a pretty good verse. shoulder pop was nice & eyespaz was cool lines he was consistent here these are the kinda of verses he needs to always drop an he'll def be a threat.

Eye had it more together here than I've been seeing, Cred's just the better battler right now. Eye's been iffy on his wording and execution before but this was better. Good battle from both but Cred just has that gritty style down and he brought it.

King Karaoke 1-0 vs Tic Tac 3-2

Another good battle, Tic escaping the pipe bar was fire, also the solve puzzle jawn was nice but Kar went off imo here. the confetti ,wanderer's comb, american dream bars were fire...tic had a real solid verse but kar had one of those real consistent mixed w/ some sick bars really hard to beat verses tbh. He took the dub here.

Nice rematch, that jigsaw line was dope from Tic but Kar's line about Wanderer's comb made me lol... that does not happen often with text battles too. Both of these guys showed their ability to be a threat but Karaoke is top 5 IMO. Beating him is never easy and Tic didn't have it this time. Still a dope battle.

he was kinda all over but last game of 21 was good line. Nik had a ok verse nothing fire but nothing bad..chincilla bar was good...but lol at the ground turkey shit smh..Nik won this hands down. Chin work on ur concepts brah.

Yo, all good dude, all good. Considering I'm now starting a new job and having my girl move in with me all at the same time haha. Mad stressed at the present moment.


So I could tell from your first verse you're not new to text. Where were you at before and how did you find Netcees.org?


The only time I've ever text battled before was actually on this site but we're going way back about 5 years when I was in college. Just remember thinking it was dope at the time and the forum was really well run. I literally only battled about 3 times in the battle arena under a different alias of which I can't remember and was wack lol. 5 years down the line I wanted something to do and just remembered the site like shit I wonder if that's still running. Sure enough it is and looking like it's being managed better than ever so I decided to get into it properly this time, although admittedly, I feel like I'm only a fraction better now than I was then lol. I wanna improve. Text battling is difficult if you haven't done it much/don't do it regularly. I've always dug rap battles in general though so I'm just seeing this now as a creative outlet side hobby type thing.


So what are your thoughts on NBL? Specifically how it's been going, the competition, and the feedback you've been getting on your verses?

The NBL is dope. I've always dug rap battles and text battling's different but hella fun. You've gotta be clever and dudes who sign in here tend to have wit about them more often than not. Competitions tough, for everyone cos there's quite a few cats capable of dropping fire, but certainly for me cos I've obviously not been at this long. Feedbacks good, I've gotta say it's shocking at first cos when you're new and you come up with something you think is dope but it's been heard a whole bunch of times and you just hear "played" makes you go wtf? I also don't understand what some people's idea of solid wording is. Sometimes people could go into a bit more detail when they're saying wording ain't good enough, when to you it rolls of the tongue easy & reads easy

Is there anyone who you like reading? Anyone you want to battle or sign in?
John Hensley & King Karaoke are a couple of my favourite reads but then I dig Allen Knight, Jilti, Ill nik-A, Orc & Murda Sho as well. Cashius was dope too but I dunno where he's at the moment. If I had the option to choose my next battle I'd pick John Hensley probs. Enjoy the dudes verses.

So NBL will go into a season tourney after week 16. What would you like to see next as far as battling? Another league? A specific gimmick tourney like a tag team or alias tourney?
Man I'd just leave that stuff up to you guys, you usually sort shit out. As I said previous the place is run pretty well. I like the idea of tag team tho never done anything like that.

Do you have any ideas for improving the site? The battling scene, topical/open mic, discussion, culture, etc?

the title for 4 straight weeks, Thats pretty impressive w/ the amount of compo there is in the league right now. Hes been crazy consistent & his personals hit, those are the type of verse that are hard to beat, sn00p is dope. Now to the challenger John Hensley, hes one of the best that ever did this txt shit, hes steady gettin back into form an i think this week he'll be at his best, he dropped a nice verse last week for the dub. Dude hasnt been around for years an comes back on a mission, dope shit. He has a similar style to sn00ps but hes alil more creative imo. This will be dumb close tbh. Im lookin forward to readin this battle.

This should be dope, these two guys have been consistent as shit lately and are entirely undefeated. In this season of NBL that's no small feat. This should be an interesting combination of styles. Sn00p has crazy wordplay but at times can come with something just a lil too complicated or that doesn't sound quite right but still, second language and he's better than most people in their first. Hens, on the other hand, comes with the simple yet effective style that stings when it hits but the flip side is coming with shit that's way to played or basic. As far as the actual battle, I think Sn00p's been a little more consistent lately and after last week it would be hard to go against him. Hensley is a lot less easy of a target than Muff but still dude is no slouch. If I have to pick though, I'ma give Sn00p the edge.

This will be pretty dope. Hens came vs. nika super played but showed better vs. me last week, so he's shaking the rust off quickly. I also don't think Hens really has many harsh personals against him so Sn00p will have to go generic. If he can drop bars like that fortune cookie shit and the kirby one from a bit ago he should have a solid showing, and I think he's still a little fresher than hens at this point so I'd say he takes it but it all depends on hens effort and if he comes played at all. Either way it'll be fire most likely and someone is gonna lose their flawless NBL record.

CONTENDERSHIP MATCH: Jilti 8-2 Vs King Karaoke 2-0

Karaoke is skating by on the comp right now, he doesnt seem rusty at all tbh, & thats bad for everyone. His last week verse against tic was good, had some nice shit in it.
He is better than faggot jilti tbh all around just more polished. I dont see this being to close i can see jilti doing some played ass kar nameplays or somthing like that..i think karaoke will win his concepts are alot fresher & worded harsher.

Gotta agree with Allen in saying Karaoke hasn't lost a step and that means he can beat anyone. The thing about Kar is motivation - I know dude doesn't like battling just anyone and he likes actual competition. Jilti is definitely competition. Dude has not lost a battle this season outside of a contender/champ match and that's worth noting. Allen hates the dude but still knew he deserved the contender spot lol. As far as the battle between the two it's Karaoke's battle to lose and that's not saying anything about jilti's abiilty - Karaoke is just at the top of text right now. If Kar sleeps, Jiliti will have the consistency to take it, but if they both come with their best Kar's got the edge.

Karaoke is the biggest bitch alive and a fraud. I don't think much has happened in disc or the news lately so he might be hurting for concepts. Jilti is super inconsistent, with concepts and wording, and sometimes a mix of both which throws his verses off. He has another shot at the champ spot though and I hope he'll take advantage and really focus and clean up his shit to be harsh. If he does it's a toss up, if he doesn't Karaoke will get it in a somewhat close one. I'm gonna have to say if I was putting money on it Karaoke will come stronger. Also no one has done much to insult Jilti's appearance in battles yet so there's potential there.

Lotto Smirk 3-1 Vs Fraze 5-1

This could be a sleeper dope battle. Lotto has concepts that are nice, but still his
wording is a lil rough, i mean its gettin better tho & hes super rusty. Honestly once he gets that down he'll be nice. Fraze last verse i read from him impressed me alot, he stepped it up big time from the ones before. This battle is close, but idk if fraze drops like he did vs tic, i think lotto is in trouble. Lotto needs to tighten up that wording in his verse.

I like this battle. These two have both had the same issue this season - creative concepts that didn't have the wording the really sting - and are working through in their style to kill it. Honestly I think each one of their battles are gonna have their best work yet so as long as they keep that pattern of improvement up this should be good and could turn into a lowkey banger. Fraze's record has been padded by noshows but the dude is no joke, and Lotto's had some close calls. This could go either way easily but I think fraze has the advantage because he's been more consistent so far. Lotto can show up with some fire too so I don't count him out but consistency has been an issue for him.

Hmmm. Lotto knows what he needs to do to put together a solid verse, but since his return has had some issues. Still he's maintained a good record though. Fraze I just don't think is good, but his wording is super crisp. It's gonna be a toss up cus Fraze will have lackluster concepts with harsh wording and Lotto will have better concepts with botched delivery. UNLESS he fixes that problem. So it's either really close or Lotto gets it, so...

Tic Tac 3-3 Vs Cred 3-2

Both are rb ppl's & both are pretty good, cred style is gutta an i like it but he needs to
try to be a little more creative i seen him drops some good shit so he has the skill to, cuz tic is fresh off a close battle w/ kar an i can tell hes hungry for a dub an wants to make it back to the title match, hes def one of the most consistent battlers out. This is a real style clash & could come down to preference in this one. Ima say tic by a small amount.
Winner=Tic 60/40 but cred has the skills to win this.

This could be cool as shit. I'm a fan of both of these guys styles and they've had a similar run this season. They both shown up against some big competition and fallen short but also had their share of fire in there. This is gonna come down to consistency, and if both really bring it, taste. Tic has some crazy concepts but Cred has the wording to get it done. This could pretty easily be a coinflip, but I'ma give Cred the slightest edge because I think he's been more consistent lately.

I hope this turns out dope. Tic has been on a bit of rut though. He needs to get back into that streak he had going.. Seems Junto threw him off. He can do it though. Cred is like murda to me, the wording and ideas he comes up with are different from most and he usually has a good few fire bars in his verses. If Tic is dropping like his last few Cred takes this easy and could either way tbh so..

Trag. 1-1 Vs Destroyer 2-3

Des is coming off a good win from a pic battle last week, which he had some funny shit
in his verse it was real consistent. Trag had a bye week, his verse the week before was nice. He had some clever bars in there. This could be close but i think des is alot better at pics then reg battles tbh, trag is pretty good at reg battler. Ima say trag takes this but des can surprise, hes proven he can drop dope verses so hopefully he does an makes this battle fire.

This could be dope. Trag's one verse was hot and I'm looking forward to seeing more from him, but I can't really try to evaluate his style without seeing more from him. If he keeps dropping like his verse against knuck he's a tough competitor. Des has his ups and downs, especially outside of pic battles. He managed to beat Orc keying but really hasn't had the best run with regular battles. He's probably getting into a rhythm after a solid verse against Wanderer last week and I expect him to keep it up like this for awhile. I gotta give Trag the edge though because I think he's a stronger regular battler. Des can definitely bring it tho and I'm hoping last week is the start of a new trend in his success.

Another good one, lots of potential. Like I been saying Destro just been lazy lately. Losing motivation.. Something. Trag I didn't peep last week tbh, but vs. me he came with it and is a proven vet. He has some fresh ideas and pretty slick wording. Could def rise up in the NBL. I wanna say Des gets it, but I just feel like Trag is gonna make a run for the belt. This will be a test though.

sometimes his verses are all over the place but he can have a few good lines here an there. Wanderer is really improving all around, hes doin wat ppl should do instead of signing out an cryin like lil bitches...hes battling taking advice to get better...thats the only way u get dope..take notes ppl. This battle is close cuz both are around the same skill level but i feel wanderer is a little more creative than chin. Ima say he wins in a close one.

He got the gun bars on lock always has one where ur like shit i wish i thought of that, murdas dope. Knuckle is coming off a loss also but in a good battle imo vs hens. His verse had some heat in it. Knuckle also been fuckin w/ some gun bars an there pretty cool the ones i read. Knuckle is dope to, that makes this battle really close both are nice.
Its hard to pick here cuz besides the gun bars there styles are completely different.
Knuckle is a lil more creative but sho is a lil more harsh. Im just say either one can win.

Both of these guys are coming off of tough loses and should be motivated to take a dub asap - especially considering they easily could've won with their verses against lesser competition. Both have nice style but Knuck is kinda getting in on that gunbar shit when it really isn't always him. He's got the wording but there's some issues with concepts sometimes. Generally strong enough to take on anyone but Murda isn't just anyone. This could go either way - both can drop some major heat - but I just got a gut feeling that sho has the advantage going in. Knuck can always do it but I just think murda's style is a little more effective right now while Knuck is changing it up, which is admirable but that transition period can be rocky.

Un is pretty solid battler sometimes a lil inconsistent but when hes not he had some quotable dope bars. Orc is fresh off a Dub vs sho in a pic battle where u went inn, u can tell he wanted that an to turn his rec around an grab the title..hes dope as fuck when hes focus. I dont see him losing this one tbh, cuz hes really good at pic battles an i dont think he wants to lose again this season lol..& i never seen un have a pic battle so idk where his skill level is at. ima go w/ orc

Never seen a roast battle before. I know they go down but that's not too common. It's basically a pic battle against some weird guy knuck knows on facebook and we decide who has the better verse. I've never seen unufk pic battle or roast but he's pretty creative. He could probably hold his own in this setting but he's up against one of the most decorated pic battlers in NC history. Should be a good battle, but Orc can handle almost any competition. He has been pretty lazy this season at times but I rarely see him slouch with pic battles. On top of that he's definitely on his way to recovering from a record of 1-3. Orc is generally just messing around but the dude doesn't want a losing record, and he's gonna do everything in his power to avoid that

I like Unfuk, and Orc has lost a few lately. But I don't think he's gonna let it happen again. Also I think not being reg works against Unfuk, cus I've never seen a pic or gimmick drop from him and Orc is filthy with them. I provided some ammo riddled shit so it should bring some humor. Mad lulz n such. The kid TJ will win easily though he's just more creative in a funny way. Reg Unfuk could have gotten an upset possibly, but this isn't something I believe he's mastered.
