The thing is, times are changing and it doesn't matter how fucking dope it is. You won't get there by being dope af anymore when the whole world is based around social media, youtube-artists and the attention span of a 5 year old kid on a coke binge. The market is so full of new stuff there's always someone new to check out and your name won't really be around unless you're on someone's playlist or available in general. You won't get out of the ''project''-bubble unless you start to reach out as soon as possible. What you're saying there only seems like excuses to not taking the next step already now. Unless you want to stay in the confines of the underground rap game on text forums and maybe a few local shows and that's it...

Fucking do it dude, get your name out of the textcees realm. Give it an honest shot. It's already decent enough to start building a fan base. If people can see and hear your progression as well it'll only build on to what they think about you and whoever you work with. You'll also get a bigger understanding of what attracts randoms that don't know you from before, who stays and what people in general like that doesn't know everything about the steps of being a rapper or producing music. Get it started mah dude.

In general it's also a bad move to ''I got some dope shit available but you won't see/hear it, you gotta buy it'', it's basically holding the few listeners you got now ''hostage'' and people generally don't like that or it pushes them away. What you want to do in the early stages is to build your fan base and attract as many listeners as possible so the word can get around. Want to make money too? Get them on iTunes/Bandcamp/Spotify/etc. now so people can get into it and ready for your next project. Call this one a ''test run'' if you want, might as well know the ins'n'out of everything if you truly want to focus on your next project. Then you won't need all this stupid shit taking time off of your day when it comes close to the release date, and you'll know exactly what to do regarding these kinds of stuff so you can focus a little bit on pr here and there as well.

well, actually though it might be okay for a rapper though, just know that if you put your music out through those services their is basically fineprint stopping you from licensing it.

like if i put my beat tapes through them, if i tried to sell a license to a tv show or something for a beat off one of my tapes they can nix it

at least thats what i hear from old beat homies who are deep in music licensing for various tv projects. like my dude put out a free tape through one of those services, to get it put on itunes/rapsody/etc. all the streaming services, and then sold it to bad girls club through a music library and they fucked him. because your basically giving them ownership of it in some form, i have to know more for actual numbers and shit, but they get you with the yea you get 91 cents on the dollar for every sale, but they 100 percent own it and just give you the lions share for doing business with them.

so if you have plans of licensing any songs, it won't work
