So you're telling me that I have to p.m. you? I ain't trying to sneak pass anyone in regards for an extension. I just don't want the battle post to be spammed with unnecessary words. Especially if I could p.m. it to the moderator. I like to keep the battle looking clean. Would you have felt better if I ask for the extension in the chat? So how can we come to an agreement that is beneficial for both sides so this kind of nonsense doesn't happen next time? So what would you want from me? I would like if the champ match to be still be open for votes and even if you did win at least we still get our feedback.

Meh, just make a decision and roll with it. There has been stroct rules upon this, and I understand where Diablo is coming from. It is a champ match as well, being extra strict is all about what kind of integrity you want on this league. Just because it has worked out between battlers till now doesn't mean it always will, hearts will be broken and life goes on. Someone got mad at me for doing something similar when I took over for inno in a short period some time ago, a verdict is all they want tho and it eased out after that. The person that got mad just watched out for that afterwards

It’s really this simple:

He tried to sneak me by requesting an extension via the PM which I wasn’t informed of at all.

I keystyled a verse together when it looked like he was no-showing.

He posted late, even after the additional 24 hour extension period he had been granted, somehow expecting this would be okay by me even though it’s outside the rules that have been in place far longer than the current six week period he’s been involved.

I’m well within my right to say “No, thank you,” as allowing him to post is of zero benefit to myself. My verse was keystyled to submit it before the deadline.

Now, had he politely messaged me and informed me of the circumstance at the time - I’m a nice guy, and have allowed others to post late on several occasions. I’m not unreasonable. I just expect people to be cordial and keep me informed. He did neither. Quite the opposite in fact, which I find unacceptable.

If he was an employee of mine and didn’t have the common courtesy to at least ring in sick or let me know he was in an unfortunate predicament that may delay his arrival, I would be terminating his contact. This unpunctual and sanctimonious attitude is not acceptable in my line of work.

Post your verse, on time, by the dead line. Just as the rules you agreed to when you signed up state. It’s really simple. You then have no one else to blame but yourself.

Alright let’s get something straight, I didn’t ask to run this league. It fell into my hands after somebody else started it up and left you guys hanging, I only picked it up because I know how much it means to some of you guys having this platform to write on and honestly I thought it’d be less of a hassle.

There’s been a rules thread in this league all season, whether you have read it or not is your problem. I give 24 hour extensions upon request, if you need them you get them 24 HOUR EXTENSIONS not 26 HOURS not 24 hours and 8 minutes not even 24 hours and one minute. If you’re late, you lose. You knew you had a battle due, you asked for the extension you wanted another day to write. Cool, you got another day but the extension is over after 11:59 PM that day, 24 hours after the original deadline.

Could Lars be a little lenient and forget those eight minutes? Sure he could. But you guys have been around long enough to know how Lars plays these battles, he’s even pulled it on me a couple times but he has every right to say “hey this is 8 minutes late and I’m not accepting it” that’s his choice. Anything after 24 hours is up to the opponent. You’re making me out to be a villain when I’ve adhered by the rules all season long and made it fair to everyone. If you feel like we’re conspiring against you that’s not true. Point is you’ve been in two champ matches this season and broke rules in both. That’s on you , not me

This is what I’m saying, though, I’ve allowed plenty of other people to post if they’ve approached me in the correct apologetic manner. I’m not an animal. I just dislike his general attitude toward me during this scenario. I’m the victim here as I’ve been robbed of a battle and feedback on my verse.

The moral of this story is one of punctuality; if you don’t wait until last minute to begin writing - you don’t run the risk of missing the (already extended) deadline.

Get your verse finished on time and avoid disappointment.

If he apologises for his tardiness I’ll consider it on the strength of his apology.
