The body cannot cope with its environment



He awoke to the grey skies with a throbbing head
his arms were dead, his breath smelled of rotted flesh
Jeff hoped today he could rest in his coffins bed
Last night is the last time is what he often said
He tried to wipe the red out of his eyes as he gagged & coughed
popping an aspirin top & taking several, he staggered off
each step became as painful as the last, he collapsed & thought...
Why do I do this? yesterdays fool is today's laughingstock
pulling himself off the ground, his shoulder suffered a sharp pain
Jeff recalled at 7:30 he left to a friends to partake in some card games
friendly wagers to celebrate the end of another hard day.
in a matter of moments he began to feel his arms shake.
Whats wrong with me? he thought breaking into a cold sweat
crumbling under his own weight he checked his phone...dead
slowly he began to lose control of his body until he couldn't move
Trying not to panic he kept asking himself What should I do?
He began to hyperventilate, fading in & out of consciousness
planting his back against a stone wall he sat up & vomited...
His sides started to feel as if he was crushed beneath fallen debris.
each passing thought was plagued by nausea & defeat.
Jeff managed to make it this far but knew it wasn't enough
Try as he may, the fear of not fitting in was becoming a crutch
He was addicted to the lifestyle he built, it was something he loved
no form of surgery or medication known to man could cover the cuts
in his desperation his mind was made up on what he needed to do.
pulling his knee towards him he popped out the heel of his shoe.
pulling out a vial that he kept in case of an emergency...
the strength started to return, he regained coordination perfectly
as his eyes began to focus his eyes started to swell up
pride would devour him alive if he couldnt pick himself up.
mankind hated what disgusted them & Jeff disgusted as a youth
but he was able to create a formula that corrupted their view
the side effects made him beautiful but he suffered from substance abuse...
yet each day he tried to make it work so no one else would go through what he went through...
