Predictions for winning: I'ma have to go with the favorite @Certain. He is dusting off his skills, and I expect in round 2 he will continue to rise.

Kind of disappointing from my ego's perspective that I wouldn't win against some of the top writers, but it gives me something to look forward to & study (their writing).

the league competes for like 12 or 14 weeks, then whoever wants can apply to be in the tournament to decide the season champion. Higher records mean higher seeding (i.e. an advantage in the tournament)

Rhyming IMO does help the situation, if anything... but writing a sentence that hasn't got a lot of structure, just to rhyme multiple times.. doesn't help.

I thought your piece was good, and all the voters said it was close. They gave advice like spending more time reading what you wrote and rewriting. Everybody does that, but some at a more extreme level. I dug what you wrote, and the theme.

I mean, look at Certain vs Frank and tell me who rhymes more... but who has more substance and pieced the topic together with more cleverness.

I can't even hate on this, its true which is the sad part lmao time played a bigger part this week than the laptop tho. An I don't punch my computers (might throw the phone) but not the laptop lol my dude sat on it an cracked the screen.
But ima atleast attempt to reclaim my rightful spot as the best writer at the worst time.
Hopefully I can get motivated an go on a run at some point
