i think a little more feed may encourage folks to write more and stick around. dropping posts that get 0 feed and fall into the abyss is the quickest way for a person to want to take thier talents elsewhere. if we wanna keep this OM jumping and buzzing then we all gotta take some time out to read and respond. even me. hope to see this place get a little busier. 1

Idk though pbv more feed is goid but often verses kind of speak for themselves idk unless maybe your droping a deeper piece at the same time guys be dropping 16s and expecting pages of feed... there must be another way to balance the game.... still like u said @Mr. J accomplishments well won if deserved...

Netcee has some of the dopest topical writers on the web, but by far the most inactive and disinterested Open Mic around. I'm not dissing anyone or poppin shit. But every time I visit this site, I see the same verses on the front page with little to no feed for months unend. It's really ashame given how many dope writers and gems there are to be found here. Granted, I've been lazy af since signing up, but to be completely honest, I've been going with the flow of traffic (so to speak) and haven't had much incentive to go over and beyond what I've seen and recieved thus far. Again, I'm not knocking the site, mods or members. I know I'm new here, so my words maybe taken out of context or be viewed as unearned criticism. Hopefully, my simple observation won't been seen as such. I've been around the web enough to be familiar with a handful of you dudes and I respect and appreciate dopeness when I see it. Netcees has an immense pool of talent, but the OM is subpar as fuck - not the quality of the content posted here, but most definitely the complete lack of activity and feed draining this forum of all semblance of life.

I think the problem you have here is partly that people don't write so much for the OM section outside of leagues and tourney verses. There are a few who do, but not many. The majority of the stuff here is for leagues/tourneys here (or elsewhere) that have been reposted OR braggadocio type keystyle ish wrote up in the reply box. The OM is more active when there's Write Weeks etc. The cypher is its most active part though. I'm pretty guilty myself, I don't share much in here, but I'll stop by with feedback occasionally if I read something. But word, you're right, a new mod or two wouldn't go amiss in here.

Yeah, you're right about that. One thing I've definitely noticed throughout my tenure of lurking in the shadows is that the writing leagues here are almost always super active. They seem the be the bread and butter on which this site feeds on. So the activity is evident ... it's just reallocated else where.

I know other sites do the whole "Leave two links of feedback before dropping something" rule but this either leads to mods ruling with an iron fist and closing everything until people PM links which is time consuming, or, you get people just writing bullshit responses to fulfil their quota. I know it addresses the problem somewhat, but it just creates other problems elsewhere truth be told.

I know it appears to look like people don't get many replies, which can deter some new folk, but the pieces that genuinely deserve their feedback because they're dope as fuck do tend to get their just deserveds and I think most of NC understands that. We don't cry that our pieces have got no love, we just kinda accept maybe it wasn't as great as we first thought and move on to the next one LOL

The majority of this site consists of writers from countless previous boards who all settled here so it's not like we haven't all had our egos stroked with feedback years before we got here. The good guys already know they're good.
