Joe's a better writer than any of Aubrey's ghosts, but this will do NO DAMAGE.

Hov's diss did 100x's more work.

and i dont like drake at all. the only song i did like from drake was back to back. it was a solid diss track. whoever wrote it didnt overdo it trying to be clever and the beat banged

this is par for the course for budden. mediocre production and his monotonous laziness made me lose interest in under a minute

if it was written out i'm sure he went at him tho.

how do you guys pay attention to him though? i feel legit retarded so many people like this guy, something about his voice or something just tells my mind to not pay attention to what he's saying.

drake is invincible. he has an army of stans that got into hip hop long after it was diluted to the point where he can thrive.

like we all know all of the stuff aboutt him that makes him corny. the ghost writers, his past as a corny nickelodeon actor, overly sensitive, etc. etc.

the game has reached a point where the fans who accept all that about him and still stan for him far outnumber fans that remember when to be a credible mc you hadd to be acttually spit your own lyrics.

budden would ruin drake if being good at rapping actually mattered to modern rap fans. but it doesn't anymore.

I actually listen to Joe's podcast, so it makes more sense with the back story. the condensed version is that Joe gave some very impassioned critiques of Drake's album. Like, he was screaming. Talking about, "I love Drake, but this album is trash! It's Take Care done bad! As a lover of this art, you have to do better!" blah blah blah.

French Montana puts a video on snapchat or something with a clip of a new song with drake playing in the background. In the song, Drake starts his verse with, "pump, pump it up..." before the clip cuts out. Joe assumes Drake is going to send shots.

Drake releases 4pm in Calabasas.

On Joe's next podcast, he breaks down all of the spots he thinks Drake is sending subliminal shots at him. Tells Drake that he loves the song and wishes that Views sounded more like this song, but if he wants to diss, then it's on.

Joe waits for the French song to be released to hear if this Drake verse is really gonna address Joe.

Song takes forever to be released.

Joe says fuck it and releases a diss song. He said now, that no matter what Drake's next move is, he has a shit load of material about Drake ready to go.

That all being said, I think the Joe track is cool.

They're both strategists. Joe was smart. If there was any potential to Drake dropping(which he hinted at somewhat) anything against Drake is an uphill battle when responding to him, just the name of the game. Drake is a baiter and waiter...he actually might have wanted Joe to do this. Joe knows this, whether he gained momentum or was given it is speculative.
