maybe instead of giving people money to live in a failed "neighborhood" they can give them a bus ticket to a place where a mcdonalds is hiring. i refuse to believe you can't leave your house and go get a mcdonalds application and get hired. you are lying. flat out. you might have to go to 5 of them before you get hired. but the jobs are there and lets pretend for a second that you can't get a shitty job at mcdonalds or a dishwasher or whatever at any place of business. there is the military. they pay great. they'll even pay for you to go to college so you can get out and be overqualified for jobs that dont exist in your "neighborhood". there are a million ways to make money, and a million and one ways to complain about how you cant. go get it niggas this isnt somalia |

still false, I got family who go out every day and try to get a job dude is a cook and has been for 15 years. no rest is hiring because the staff they have in house has been there for ages and no one is willing ot let go of a job even the shitty ones. so he goes 2 or 3 cities over. the rest who does have work says he is to over qualified for there position when he says he will take a paycut they say its more of a position for people starting out and theyd hate to have a seasoned cook work for that price. dude has a family 2 kids, was working at a huge rest when he had both of em. economy went down rest went under hard for him to find steady work since. day job places from the state has lines 2 miles long every day and it only gives job for jobs that are needing day people. dont fucking tell me its that easy or simple because it isnt. I help him out as much as I can because I know he is going through it he refused to get help from the government for almost a year and a half before he had to so he wouldn't lose his apartment and so his kids wouldnt lose there meals. so yeah you may think its easy to get a job and it may be where you are but here its not and in alot of places its not that story about my family member isnt a rare incident its a fucking common thing here |

its common everywhere. your dude is trying to get his old job. good luck with that. he could go get work at mcdonalds right now as a cook. french fry station yo. no one wants to do that shit but its a cold world. there might not be skilled jobs available. he aint gonna be able to get his old wage. his womans gonna have to go get one too.
when i say there is jobs im talking minimum wage shit. go get one. get two if you need to. they are out there no matter what. you know how many fucking mcdonalds there are in 1 city let alone 3? burger king, churchs chicken, popeyes, kfc, rallys, checkers, hardees, carls jr, wendys, etc etc. a million fucking fast food chains. a million gas stations. not really a million but tons of opportunities for work gas stations drive thru's bar's etc. you aint gonna just find the perfect job immediately if ever. crabs in a barrel. you get knocked down with the rest of the crabs, they aint gonna pick you back up and put you right where you were at lol also Active duty Army - 42 Army Reserves - 42 Army Natinal Guard - 42 Active duty Air Force - 27 Air Force Reserve - 34 Air National guard - 34 Active duty Navy - 34 Navy Reserves - 39 Active duty Marines - 28 Marine Corps Reserves - 29 Active duty Coast Guard - 27 Coast Guard Reserves - 27 cut off age for enlistment in the military. all pay enough to live off of comfortably. but word yo sometimes you gotta realize where your at and when the lifestyle you did live is gone and you can't hold on. your kids gotta be raised in the hood. they might have to share a room while you sleep on the couch. you gotta get it tho however possible the government helping you shouldnt be an option imo just my views and all i really got for it |

drugs cost money (we'll exclude MMJ where legal) you are so poor that you need government assistance to fund your life we have a way of making sure you aren't spending those funds on drugs hmmm.. works for me. |

The utter absurdity of this law is magnified when you realize how much it cost the state of Florida to run this program. The data released today shows that Florida spent $118,140 reimbursing the overwhelming number of Florida TANF applicants — 3,938 to be exact — who tested negative for drugs. That is far more than any money saved by the program, at a net cost to the State of over $45,000 And that's only part of the cost to the state to run this program. There are also the administrative costs, staff costs |

I don't think anyone is suggesting that our country wouldn't function without welfare, but in a civilized society it's important to not let people just die off. I know in the Midwest during the winter there are govt programs that bus homeless people south because they'd die off living in the streets of Nebraska and shit. Would society be fine of that happened? Of course, but these are people, regardless of their mistakes or circumstances.
I like uh-oh's idea about requiring some form of community service in order to receive welfare. Pretty much every school everywhere in the country could use some volunteer help. Streets have shit on them. Etc. but do something. I have students who carry their parents' EBT card on them and have vocally told me "I'm gonna drop out of school and live off welfare cuz I get 800 bucks a month to do nothing." This is not a single incidence, this is 3 students in the last 2 year, in an affluent neighborhood no less. Better believe there are countless kids across the country thinking the exact same thing. That's my beef with welfare, it breeds the mindset of "I don't really need to do anything, I'm fine being on welfare perpetually." At the very least, the welfare amount should be gradually reduced, have some kind of incentive to get people to start to live self-sustainably. I agree with gow/serpent though because the cost of administering drug tests would be counter productive, but something needs to be done. End of the day, I'm with uh oh on this. The amount of money I get taxed is devastating, and I have a legitimate career plus (until recently) two part time jobs. So I'm not cool with paying to support other people's bullshit, where's someone to support mine? Give me a federal bailout and we'll call it even, but I'm being punished for doing shit the right way, and that's fucked up n |
