But yeah my schedule would be stronger if I was more consistent. I blame competitively writing consistently since a year ago. I didnt mean to no show last week but my workload was nuts

That's actually true. I was in an airport recently and had a layover and was going to get my shoes shined professionally, but then they bumped me up in the flight. My shoes are a little too scuffed right now. I have a job interview coming up and might need to remedy that.

How can we know nothing was prewritten for that? Also, I dropped 26 in 15 minutes about Meth coming out of the closet, so that's the same pace (and about a specific topic chosen by Fig).

ive always loved that quote in Certains sig.

when I first heard it I thought it to be 100% truth. ultimately its not the beats that matter, its about the rhymes. now im not so sure I agree. its about both meshing together. look at where Wu is now that Rza barely produces for them and when he does the beats suck.

I felt the same way. As a teenager, I was all about the rhymes. I used to think Rakim and Nas were the greatest rappers ever because they rapped better than anyone. But rap is music, first and foremost, and the listenability of it is crucial. So maybe Nas is a better rapper than Jay Z, but he hasn't made better rap music.

With that said, I think what Masta Killa was getting at was that the Wu-Tang Clan had great beats to amuse the masses, but the smart listeners were grasping so much more within the rhymes.

let me ask you guys a question. do you think that if Wu Tang was still dropping albums on the level of 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and Wu Tang Forever would they be a commercial success?

I cant imagine that if Ice Cream dropped today that it wouldn't be a radio hit. or am I completely wrong and the times and music tastes have just changed too much for them to ever be a commercial success again.?

Music has evolved. No one could drop something sounding like 1995 and have it be a hit. But Ghostface Killah, in particular, has a pretty nice niche in the mainstream still.

Look at what Odd Future is doing, basically by mimicking the Wu-Tang Clan model.
