I think the fb joke guy was over prosecuted last week too. I mean damn, if you didn't take it from another emcee it's not biting. Karpis joke site shit wasn't bitting either. It's flipping or getting a muse.

IMO, there are two definitions of biting, the more narrow one being "taking another writer's line word for word with minimal variation and passing it off as your own". But the broader one is "taking material that is obviously not your own and using it in a verse without changing or flipping it". And the dude was definitely guilty of the latter. Did he bite another writer? Definitely not. Did he also put an e-card text into a text battle line word for word? Hell yeah. And that's whack too.

I get what you're saying about getting a muse and flipping, but to call it that, you'd have to at least change the stuff and adapt it into the battle format. I have no problem if you do that, because you have to put in some thought to make it work in a battle, and then it's automatically your own creation. But the dude didn't do that. He used that shit word for word. And I have no problem calling that a bite.

Oh and as for catching people out that use played shit... Yeah, I used to do that whenever I thought I'd seen a line before. I simply don't do it anymore because most of the archives is gone, so it's really hard to find that shit. Good looks on digging up the vulture & fly shit, though, @Hush. Nice detective work, lol.
