Text battling is half writing and half reality TV/interactive Hip Hop video game/Worldstar of Warcraft. Young people have more time to devote to such things, and less experience/time removed from when make believe wasn't dulled by the realities of adulthood. We can still write and pretend, but who plays hide-n-seek still? Who sits in their room and pits G.I. Joe against Cobra Commander? We're serious now. We say we'll write books. We'll make a mixtape. This is a corporate softball league. Some people are sliding hard into 2nd, thinking a scout is watching or some shit. I don't judge.
