Yeah I mean they're real. The sense of irrationality (o gee ghosts 4 sure r not real) in people's minds stem from the Hebraic and Greek dichotomy of the intellect which has infected Western Man's mind. Heavens and Earth (Hebraic), Mind and the senses(Greek Plato/Aristotle). Bullshit imo, everything exists as part of a unified whole. Can you see microwaves when you make mac and cheese? Anyways...

When I was younger I lived in an apartment on the upper west side of New York. I used to always see this solemn man in my apartment, and the first year or so he didn't speak to me. I thought my parents knew about him but just never talked about him. One day I got back from school and he was standing in front of the refrigerator as I went to get a granola bar. He was blocking my way so I decided to ask him his name, and he hoarsely whispered "Jonathan". I asked him if he wanted to eat with me and he smiled for the first time ever and nodded his head. However, when I brought the bars out he was gone. His neck was always blue, so I figured he had issues swallowing or something. Later I told my mother that Jonathan should take something to heal his neck and she just looked at me dumbfounded and started crying. She asked how I knew about Jonathan and after I told her that I've been seeing him for years, she told me that her brother had hung himself in the apartment more than 15 years ago, and his name was Jonathan. Now I guess I was just "hallucinating" and I had some real coincidental mindtricks being played on me but I really highly fucking doubt it tbh. There is one reality, there is no separation but there are varying degrees of sensitivity to paranormal activity mainly based on how young you are, followed by belief.

@oats - totally liked where you were going whether you just woke up/were high or not lol... they have done some measurement things re: seeing the aura leave a body right as it passes i believe

the only thing others are alluding to that i do not think is a great argument is "i have to see it to believe it" - i think chyeah brought up a good point, or alluded to what i believe at least - in that "our eyes" are more limited than existence as a whole is....

Why would you believe something you haven't seen or witnessed with your own eyes?

I agree with keeping an open mind, but if you have not witnessed something I don't see how you can logically say you believe in it.

Don't blindly believe in anything just cuz you like the idea, get some proof first.

i'm not blindly believing brotha - to me it's more about not blindly disbelieving.

We know our eyes are limited in a number of ways -- even as simple as needing telescopes to see certain stars and microscopes to see certain cells.

We use technology to overcome our physical limitations - but even the technology we advance is based originally on the limitations we perceive (e.g. what can we do to see a little further out or a little closer up).

At the same point though, definitely not on a wall here trying to say everyone should believe in ghosts --- i'm just saying that i wouldn't rely on 'my' (or our) limited senses to arrive at a conclusion.

But i think that is where the a big, and fair, difference can be between people on this topic (and perhaps you and i), the overall argument perhaps could be boiled down to:

"if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"...

without ears to hear it - does it matter? without eyes to see it, does it even exist?

but, I've always considered myself pretty open to things and I have never had any kind of supernatural experience, not even close.
I have scared the shit out of myself with my own mind though, plenty of times, but that's all that it was and I think that's all it ever is.

Exactly....I believe because I've had experiences. I believe from experiences. The night of my aunt funeral me and my mom went to her house to collect some memory's. While going in her room her bed was messy and all of a sudden the comforter flips over like someone getting from under them. Man we ran so fast out of the house lol. It was crazy my mom just started balling in the car. And then of course everybody knows about the other thing. I still try to be skeptic but I know its possible....
