Soulstice. I feel like I like this. I'm tempted to believe that the story is of a couple leaving from somewhere, since the woman seems to be directing the conversation, I'll say they just spent a holiday with her family. She wasn't particularly happy at the impression he made. He wasn't particular happy in their relationship. She seems to have settled into a contentment where she can glide over issues, while he seems to be slipping more and more into a depression about things getting worse. I'm always a little up in the air about pieces like this, because I don't like to read any other replies before I vote, and I'm always nervous I'll be completely wrong haha. The writing was dope though. I didn't like "invertebrate eunuch" at first. I literally re-read the line saying, "as recursive confusion turns you into a fucking pussy." just cause I thought the wording was better. But No-backbone, no-balls. Invertebrate Eunuch is pretty on point. I also really liked the last bar. So kudos on that. If this story is how I imagine it, great piece. If I'm completely off base, I hate you and I hope you lose. Also, are you from PR? I feel like your name is really familiar. Edit: See, I read other people taking the bullets line literally, and now I dont know what to believe anymore.

Objective. I will say that objectively youve had the best flow I've read thus far. And as an audio head, that shit is appealing to me. That being said, the story lacked a little development. There wasn't much depth beyond him being kept awake due to "dark forces." This leaves a lot to be desired when trying to make a connection with your character. I don't know why he's upset, and I don't know what changed that finally allowed him to sleep. Other than letting his depression "swallow him whole." It seems like the only way he can be okay with him actions is to accept this seemingly inevitable role as a bad guy, but his morals are fighting hard against that. In the end he succumbs to his evil, but we're still not really sure what that is. I think the idea is a cool one, but the execution maybe fumbled a little bit. And although sleep is the metaphoric "home" you speak of, allowing himself to slip into his insanity would seem to be foreign to him, which leaves the "finally home" bar to seem a bit contradictory. Well written, just lacked a little development.

@kannon: I appreciate the time you took on the vote I had vs. @Soulstice and that you posted it in here. The title I had for my verse, and what I tried to convey in the story was ''Insomnia''. It was basically the same verse I sent to Certain so I wouldn't no-show and in case I'd get some time to polish it and re-write some lines. I didn't get time to polish it but you gave me some insight on how I could improve it even further with the thoughts I had in mind on how I would originally improve it if I had the time to do so. Thanks man.
