I dont mean to throw rocks in the water all im saying is itvs not been strict. I chose to not post last night because I did that same thing last week (half assed verse) and I didnt want to again. I know I could have posted on time and I strongly believe my halfway verse would have won, thats not my point. My point is if its going to be strict it needs to be strict for everyone. Thats how leagues work,.. or don't work. Favoritism is not cool, not saying thats what happened at all. Im just saying ive seen battles closed at midnight on the dot and someone not be able to post. It just needs to be a level playing field. Ok, I wont say another word about this

9 years I think.

I have never had to post at a time when the time differences were different than they normally are...the clocks changed...to the best of my knowledge I have never been in that situation before.

Also, up until the last 2 years I used to have much more time and I usually posted long before the deadline. I never no showed back then, I don't remember no showing until I joined netcees tbh...it just so happened that life got pretty crazy around that time and my topical writing in general came to a halt.

It is. Again, El Pancake had specifically asked me for a few extra minutes. He was on the site right at the time of the deadline.

I have not once not given people five or so extra minutes when I see they are active on the site at the time of the deadline. I don't want people to no-show. But I don't understand the logic of saying you had a verse half-written the day after. You weren't active on the site anywhere close to the deadline, and you didn't even speak up after seeing the battle was closed. You waited until 11 a.m. to say you had a half-written verse. What am I supposed to do with that?

I think the moral of the story is to just post 10 garbo lines if youre going at 3 am, then write your real verse

It just bothered me for a second, I didn't follow up with it because I didn't want to fuck with battles or the league, so I said nothing, but I was pissed for a second, and I believe the loss on my record should be taken off, I don't care if it's not, I don't care about my record at all, so I have no interest in whether it is removed or not...I just think it should be.

Witty, if you'd like to vote three times this week, I will change your loss to a win, and you will only have two no-show losses credited against you. That seems fair. But Witty's scenario was the only one all season in which someone tried to post, found a battle locked and spoke up about it with no change in the ruling.

You can find dozens of examples of battles this season where people have either posted half-verses at the deadline and edited in full versions or posted slightly late.

I'm glad wittys got a chance to get his loss fixed cuz I remember that shit. It wasn't just a time zone difference it was also the day we moved clocks ahead one hour so he genuinely got fucked lol

An I'm sorry no showing again guys, I had full intention of posting but lacked motivation an the topic really had my rattled cuz I couldn't think of any takes that hadn't been done to death. Along with vacation days an my birthday I really just let time get away from me so for that I apologize

If my memory serves me right, you posted on Wednesday (2 days before deadline) and edited it a few times after that (which is fine). I half-agree, half-disagree with both parties in the inquiry. I thought editing was lenient, if it was the wording in a line, OR a few little fix-ups here and there mechanically/grammatically, etc.

I think I've done editing about once or twice, but I've also bit my tongue on many errors/change of heart I've had on a lot of things I've posted prematurely, or I wrote very quickly. I try not to post past 11:59 PT, and I haven't yet. I rather show with a 'half-ass' verse than no verse, in my honest opinion. I almost did that to zygote this week but I decided against it, as I did have time. I was just being lazy, I'm glad I showed. Other than that, I remember pancake posting at around the 12:18 mark, and I saw him 'ninja' it in. I didn't have a problem with it - I thought it was allowed, and still do. 12 hours, or 5 hours or even 2 hours after is still considered a loss to me and shouldn't be allowed. Half an hour, or should I say -18 minutes, really isn't a problem, even with the strictest guidelines. I commend certain for giving Witty the chance to redact his loss, as it is a special occasion and requires special mending. Exceptional.

I think pancake knew he was on the side of falling behind in votes, but made an effort to show. Which is exceptional as well.
