As much as I'd like to see an upset here, Diablo will swing for the champ match. Master Rock will need to come with everything they've got - my advice: see who's been actively voting in the last few weeks, and identify what they enjoy voting for.

#1 Contender Match-Up: brokenhal0 (5-3) vs. Scar (5-3)
Pretty even - brokenhal0 contended against me (and got enough votes to win if they hadn't needed a DQ-dodge from Frank) well enough that they should be able to secure this match - which, conversely, means Scar should know that their opponent is coming in hot.

XI WK IX: Symetrik (5-1) vs. Bladed Thesis (2-1)
for obvious reasons.

XI WK IX: Dominate (0-2) vs. Universe (6-2)
If Uni shows, Uni. probably an NS though.

XI WK IX: ZeeDee (0-0) vs. NYCSPITZ (2-2)
If NYC shows, NYC. probably an... wellp.

XI WK IX: Adverse (3-4) vs. Lyfzaa Gamble (1-0)
Uncertain.

XI WK IX: Dope girl (4-3) vs. Cereal (4-4)
Ah yes, the age-old question. I see Cereal taking this bc they tend to be a tad more cohesive.

Uncertain.

XI WK IX: Sinacog (2-4) vs. Pharaohs Army (3-3)
Although PA is wild, Sinacog demonstrated an abomination of a verse this last week and PA should be able to take it with ease if they give it a decent effort. Conversely... if Sinacog does something real, it might swing in their favour.

I guess this doesn’t matter now since you didn’t post on time anyway, but I’m intrigued as to how the rest of the league feel about this scenario:

Would you guys allow your opponent to go over the agreed upon line limit, that they themselves requested, after you had already posted your verse?

I can’t help but feel this grants them an unwarranted advantage to do so.

While we’re at it, I’ll also ask, would you allow your opponent at extension only requested after you had posted your verse?

I had a busy week, both my children were sick, it was the school holidays so they were home all week and free time was at a premium, I struggled writing, managed to get my verse up in time even though I wasn’t 100% happy with it. Rock then mentions for the first time he needs an extension today. I could for sure have used that additional 24 hours myself if he had given me a prior heads up, but to only request it after I’ve posted feels wrong to me somehow.

As things sit currently, I feel like I’m being asked to effectively deprive myself of the guaranteed win via NS and then concede every conceivable advantage (line limit, timeframe) so that he then has the chance to potentially win the title.

There’s nothing about the situation that benefits me, nor gives me an incentive to allow him to post, besides me ‘getting a battle’. Do you guys see what I’m saying? I’m at a lose-lose with it. I look like an asshole if I deny it him, but if I needlessly accept it I risk potentially losing when there is absolutely no reason for me to do so. It’s an unnecessary risk after a tough week. I don’t see how it would be beneficial for me to do so. Sorry, Rock.

I think it can be tough cuz people do be busy sometimes like you mentioned, and might not check in (both literally and checking the site). tough to find the middle point of "your opponent already posted" but if they posted like... the day of the battle being posted? is that still fine to ask for the things you need to ask for?

anyways. we all know Frank doesn't give a shiiiiit xD

this is why I suggested enforcing a check-in due date - 24 or 48 hours after the battle is posted. checking in proves you've seen it, seen who you're up against, the topic, had a chance to ask for things you might need.
