Stats help to a degree. He's one of the goat no doubt but besides what he did personally you have to look at the team he led as well. In his era the Jazz were about on the same level as the Clippers now.

Steals are an empty stat, and mean nothing unless buoyed by better defensive statistics. Magic Johnson is a better point guard than Stockton. Isaiah Thomas is a better point guard than Stockton. Chris Paul is a better point guard than Stockton. To name a few. Your argument against the "RINGZ" argument is correct. You need to look closely at how similar your flimsy surface stats argument is to that same argument you disregard, correctly. Fail troll.

Umm what? What other defensive statistics could buoy them? rebounds? steals are the forced fumbles of the NBA. A steal is a free possession for your offense. In addition, steals are far more difficult to accomplish than any other defensive stat that would buoy them. So.......your argument is invalid and nonsensical. Can't speak on all time cause I don't follow sports history but of active nba players I feel like Ryan Anderson is an elite role player who always got traded as either a deal sweetener or for nothing. Injuries don't help either. He'll do well with the rockets though

And I love Paul Pierce but Tmac is just better. No shame in that tho
