you're gonna have to learn to pick and choose your battles, and you're also gonna have to learn that you're the one that's not in control. also, when it comes down to arguing, don't get stuck in the trap of trying to prove that you're right about anything. what's important is that you clearly express how a particular action or set of words made you FEEL. In my home we call it "Playing to our strengths".

I despise washing dishes, but I don't mind emptying dish washer. So we do that. I take out the trash. I do laundry. She puts a new bag in the trash can. She folds clothes and puts them up.
