kinda like you have to overthrow the champ at their forte to be able to change what kinda match?

I understand the champ having the privilege of choosing, but that might just mean them choosing 'text battle' every week and playing to their strength

a TRUE challenge imo would be letting the challenger choose what kinda battle they do

that's a true lyric olympian champ

beating the challengers at their own game

yeah that's kinda cool

I was basically just trying to prevent a battler winning then alternating between just pic/reg battles

if it's worth having an Olympian champ, it's GOT to encompass at least like reg/pics/snf/topical AT LEAST imo

cover all the bases

maybe have it set in stone that week 1 is a set thing, week 2 is a set thing etc?

I dunno I just think because everyone has their speciality, giving them the choice to pick what they do would be detrimental to the idea of it encompassing ALL elements

What about a tourney without elimination? Like 3 battles, topical, text, and poetry. Best records move on to another round that has double elimination or single elimination with the same 3 types till one person is left, he would be the champ of the ttp tourney

No an actual tourney just alot longer than the usual because of the different styles. The first "round" would be 3 battles per person one in each style, then the top records would move on to an elimination style round where best 2/3 moves on to the following round and have single elimination from there
