but on paper his company or whatever is making bank.

so he's getting taxed CRAZY. this in turn means he can't hire the people needed to do the job. i can't work overtime not because he's cheap, but because it doesn't MAKE SENSE, he is in business to make money, when the government punishes him for making money, me as the blue collar underling, there is no room for growth for me.

raising the minimum wage is fucking retarded. its the MINIMUM wage required to SURVIVE. it isn't the minimum wage required to PROSPER. it isn't the governments fault you can't support a family on minimum wage, it is YOUR fault for bringing children into the world that you weren't financially ready to take care of.

i can live off of 40 hours a week, minimum wage. the minimum wage of ohio.

obviously the minimum wage in cities where the cost of living is higher, should be higher than cities like where im at. there are 350 dollar efficiency apartments everywhere. electric included. 40 hours at minimum wage almost pays that in 1 week. but guess what you get 4 of them. but apparently thats not enough money to support yourself and feed yourself right? fuck outta here

my main point is republicans help small business owners, which in turn helps me, an employee of a small business. if our small business is turning better profits i can in turn earn more money.

also my main dislike of democrats is the fact im not for putting a woman in any position of power, and the fact that a democrat has been the only president to directly affect my life in any given way, and it happened to be a negative way. making me pay for health care. thats an extra bill i didnt have before obama, and republicans ain't with it.

I'm sorry but you're misinformed. I can't be a cheerleader for the Democrats. But, I can be cliche (but truthful), and tell you that they are the lesser of 2 evils. By far. Let's not underestimate "actual poverty" though. People with "actual disabilities". People who don't buy crab legs on foodstamps, but rather decide between 1 cheap/unhealthy option vs. the other. Poor senior citizens, etc.

I'm sorry but this is another misconception. Business owners don't hire based on taxes, or how much they are taxed. It's based on demand. Period. And I'm not making that up. I've been told by a couple successful business owners. And.. there is also a lot of evidence for it.
If another worker is needed for the demand, the worker will be hired. If not, then guess what, you will get your overtime.

By the way, I doubt your employer is getting taxed "crazy". America's corporate tax rate is high, but the effective rate is actually quite low. The majority of small businesses (especially the ones claimed on a personal income tax situation) are taxed a relatively small amount.
Again, I'm not making this up. There have been studies done.

Another misconception which you expounded on.
There have been multiple studies of adjacent counties- one with a higher minimum wage- where the data shows that prices of goods and services did not in fact shoot up.


It sounds as though your main gripe is that you have to pay for health insurance because you're not poor enough to qualify for medicaid. Perhaps you should take one for the team and tell your boss you'd rather make minimum wage than the 10 you're currently making.
