you are a fireman. A rookie. You are en-route to your first real call to a real fire. Your adrenaline is pumping, "boomp-boomp-boomp-boomp" excitement and fear almost overcome you. You sit up and greet the day. You slide down the pole (no homo) and head to the kitchen for coffee and bacon. Some of the guys are already up and the festive mood of yesternight is gone. Chief slides the paper to you. it reads:

"tragic house fire claims the life of 44yr old". Her name was Erma Jean Grey. She was a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 1. Her wake will be held at Abraham funeral home thursday at 5pm."

Carmicheal speaks up, "Hey kid, this happens, IT happens, more times than I can count, the boys are going to take up a donation and go, you coming"?
