he said 5 series, not an M.

you can get an E39 for less than 18k now though. if you really wanted one.

E60s are probably still out of your budget. though i'd argue the E39 is the superior driving car.

I want a 2002 or 2003, <50K miles. I need to buy before they start appreciating, if they ever do

I would settle for an M3 if I thought id eventually be in the money thru engineering

yeah that'd be an E39

50k miles you're probably hovering in the low 20s.

for reasons why E39 > E60 and the new F platform:

edit, typo.

I'm aware of why the E39> modern models. Article didnt even mention the horrors of iDrive...

but yeah, complete electronic control is the future of automobiles. it can be a good thing, but it wont be the same.

we can only hope for a niche car manufacturer that appeals to the days of old. Caterham, Lotus... who knows

CAR TALK

SO EXCITE

MANUAL GEAR SHIFT E-BRAKE EXPLODING DRIFT PAN, TURBO EXHAUST TRANSMISSION GAUGE, MAGNET TIRES

OH YEAH

BETTER PUT THAT FUSELAGE IN THE NITRO BOOSTER TO GET MAXIMUM TORQUES

DON'T FORGET TO RE-ARRANGE THE PADDLE SHIFTER TO NEUTRAL OXIDIZATION OR YOU'LL BLOW A FUSEBOX AND SIDESWIPE AN AXLE ROD

They finally got iDrive right in the '13 models. When I was test driving them it was like night and day from the previous generation.. but the ridiculous cost is ridiculous in an increasingly competitive market. The base models don't even include real leather seats anymore.

That is just.. wow.

As for a niche player coming out with a track worthy sedan that can also offer modern conveniences.. I dunno man. A sedan ain't coming from the companies you listed though.

Le Sigh.

Have you driven a Lexus lately? There technology's definitely advanced a lot. Toyota's stepped their game up.

Was that a joke? Outside of the LF series, I hope that was a joke.

I'll even give you a pass on that one.

Yea, stupid. Lol.

But on a serious note. Audi's are dope cars but compared to BMW, their technology is 2 years behind. So a '14 Audi has the technology of a '12 Beamer. Read that shit in some car magazine. AutoWorld or some shit like that. I like Audi's tho, front end/Head lamps are so much nicer.
