If there were an entire group of people (blacks) who didn't like being called a word, I'd avoid it, unless they were being a dick. They see it as racist. My families friend pershanto for example is a from india, and is a philosophy professor at a prestigious university. I never was a fan of joining in on the joke....it always felt weak to me. I prefer to attack head on.

Lookup Nigger, it wasn't originally an ethnic slander. Blacks didn't have education, you were from a different country that lived in the jungle and chucked spears (not being racist atm) blacks at the time were literally niggers.
