i personally wouldnt judge toughness by hit -- but if we were going to, i assume you'd judge a tackle by "net force" exerted by the tackler and absorbed by the victim, right?

if so, I think sports science already answered the question for us at one point.

Rugby is the only sport i've seen a dude go back in with HALF OF HIS EAR ripped down, literally, we taped the shit around his head so it wouldn't flap downward like a damn puppy.

from that day forward, we all taped our ears lol.
lol. also. equipment = more intelligence not less toughness

I suppose. I've seen that Sports Science ep. It's ridiculously biased. In rugby, an average tackle isn't hard at all, it's more tactical and the point is simply to stop your opponent from moving forward. Once in a while you'll get deadly hits that injure people, but if we're talking about force - that's on the individual, his size and power. Has nothing to do with whether it's NFL or Rugby.

Besides, this normally turns into a "which is tougher" debate, so it's w/e.

Way too much bias in this thread

SHOCKER!

Americans like what they grew up watching, others like what they grew up watching.

Surprising.

I actually prefer nfl to rugby, but i can separate what i like and look at the facts.. something that most you seem to find impossible, must be hard having such a limited intelligence.
