I'm against the pooling ideas to be honest..

it may work well elsewhere but at the pace we are moving right now it won't help
we need more competitors before we consider the idea of open topics...
there's plenty ideas to choose from & make them work. time is the issue, not the topics
voting is a slow process that doesn't get done until the last day is around the corner
a majority of us have lives sure, that's understandable on the Mods part as well
but we are only on the 4th week, there's like 15 or so weeks in this...there's no need to pool ideas yet..
as Mods though I feel like you should specify the weeks ahead as....who was it...
I forget but let's say week 5 gives you an opening sentence you build off of..
week 6 you get the ending of the story & you build your way up to that specific moment
week 7 you use a picture of a landscape & week 8 you use a picture of certain weather extremes
if you guys kept a set schedule it would be much easier...
Thursday topics should go up, you have until Monday to finish
votes should be due when the battles are open & should be done by Tuesday.
if all the votes aren't in you have 24 hrs to make it up and have that person vote on another league in addition to here to be eligible for the next week...

by the way I have no issue with the topics chosen, I feel like Adonis came with a dope idea setting us up with 3 topics
you aren't limited this way because they all correlate with each other in one way or another
if you aren't inspired by the topic, either don't compete or just write whatever you feel works
it's not that hard to do, there's plenty of talented writers here..
to compete in a league is to be challenged not to have your hand held by your own use of your own ideas

I will create a schedule of topics and anyone who doesn't like that week can sign out ahead of time. Can't complain

The set schedule is key. I want the league administration to be firm not entirely inflexible.

The deal will be laid out in its entirety in the next magazine.

I think the majority of the league already said having verses due Tuesday would be best because some people can only write on weekend and some people can only write on weekdays

so that gets them both covered equally. I don't care however.

As far as topics, still don't care. The more challenging the better. I'm here to stretch my ability and not be coddled

Nah if they want to drop Tuesday the deadline should be noon instead of midnight...
there's no reason a person cannot start a verse during the weekend inbetween free time

Just posted up my verse - it was an interesting thing to write. I feel I left out a lot of the detail and inrigue that the film carried but I think I represented the overall feeling and theme relatively well - the idea of V's sacrifice and how his actions created a void and vacuum which the free people would fill and create a new world for the rest. It was quite fun.
