now tell me in the 84 or 96 class.., Name 1 motherfucker from the 84 or 96 class that you would give 3 ft of space to shoot...?
i remember when you had to have the full package to make it to the league.. ur Chris Webbers, Charles Barkleys, Hakeem, Karl Malone, Bird, MAgic..
Shaq is just way too big.. he dnt have to shoot..
but now, if your a quick guard that dunk... u'll make it
russel westbrooks, john walls, derek rose(freakish game but can't shoot) list goes on..

but if i chose it would be the 96 class all around.. but 84 class had better Talent wise
You said it. They gave them 5 ft of room, like it or not thats what is now.

Although people like curry and thompson along with gearge kyrie Erving.
Are not part of that draft class, They are the result of that foundation.

Carmelo.

The ball is being scored AND handle by the perimeter players now.

Lebron an wade though fhey dont shoot amazingly...they change the defense.

that doesn't make much sense tho, because dudes played like this before LeBron

Lebron is 69 270 and moves like a pg. cool. but Shaq didn't "change the game" did he?

Penny didn't neither. and wouldn't have had he stayed healthy

its just sometimes you have freakish athlete's, but not necessarily changing the game

Allen Iverson changed the game yes or no? and he isn't even the best from his own draft class

And if LeBron was drafted in 96 he would have never been MVP, not with his skill set

he actually doesn't know how to play basketball imo, you'll see it more as he gets older

Your probably right about the 84 class I might of picked to quickly.

But.

03 came along and reinvented how the game was played.

There is a reason that bigs are disapearing.

That ahit is boring

Now if lebron would of beeb born/drafted in that era, with the same skill set.

Shaq dominated the game.

He changed how they defended him because he couldnt free throws for shit.

Come on penny? His injuries leave him out this convo.

Ypu saying lebron couldnt play im that era?

His a great post up player..a staple of 90s ball

I don't think he'd still be lebron at all. not a superstar like he is today.

So it goes back to my point.

You xabt compare different eras.

Perfect example.

Hibbert and Randolph.

Now are above average players.

If they would played in that era they would be sick.
But thats only because thats the style they play now.
They where taught to play like that.

Lebron is new era..fast break era. ..its a different game bro

Different skill sets for each era.

But honestly believe lebrons physical would carry him through

I agree its a different game. I ain't disputing your entire arguement tbh. I know its hard to say who would actually be what in a different time zone but shit speculation is a great thing lol

imo its alot more sensative n sisified now. I was watching an old school game the other day it was with isaiah and laimbeer when detroit won there titles and basketball was so much doper then

So I mean lol it us what it is

it's more exciting because theres less touching imo. back then when u went to the basket to dunk you EARNED THAT SHIT lol michael earned every dunk he got and got the fuck hacked out of him more then a few times. now the wind from your arm breezes a player you get a call so eryone scared to get near the other player. of course its more exciting when you aint got to work as hard to score your points

But is it bad basketball?

I think its the evolution of the game with society

Back im the 80s niggas wasnt politically correct
People where gritty and more jobs where still here in america
So had more hardworkinh people....

Now a days niggas is soft and can make money sitting behind a comp.
Not saying people like that dont earn they're way.
But its a different mentality.

yeah but it makes it alot harder to compare a with b. i think the 96 class had a bit of both worlds but the 03 class def doesn't. I dont know I just don't see players today fucking with players back then though i'm sure there's a trillion different opinions. My favorite player of all time is pistol pete so I am nostalgic with basketball.

I'm not sayin Penny can guard LeBron

I'm saying Penny had waaaaay more skill than LeBron, and I'm saying LeBron has little basketball skill

Hack a Shaq? dog, ppl are doing that right now are they? and did they do it outside of Shaq?

I don't think you know the definition of "changing the game" @Innovator
