Firefly is great. Watch "The Train Job" (which was the first episode Fox aired but is listed as the second episode on Netflix because that was the originally desired order), and I promise you'll be hooked. Then go back and watch them all in order.

Yes, it did. So have many good shows. Terriers, Freaks and Geeks, My So-Called Life and Police Squad! are all great one-season shows.
