tbr when I was new on nc 1.0 the newbie tourney became a who can impersonate orc best tourney which led to some bad habits. it didnt help that the veteran new guy was shank sinatra lol

i hear you though. I wanna make a space for new guys to hone a style, but not tell them the 'da feet' line is dope. constructive criticism is kind of hard to come by with a lot of battlers but we could definitely stand to see more of it with a lot of vets just giving up(which is why I thought the ultimate writer tourney was great)

Yeah but as a battler i never wanted to win a newbie tournament. I battled at other sites coming here and being forced to be a rookie was irritating but it was the only one active. If it turns out your garbage fuck it but until then let that man spit. Everybody damn near writes the same no new styles are allowed to grow. You got amen as glossy lips or whatever for weeks now shit like that make you not want to come back. Yeah okay hes annoying but if we kick everyone out no one is gonna be left. Its like gang initiation to an inactive crew.

I feel you I think the way new guys get handled has been fucked, that's why I'm tryna corral them straight to nbl (xlnc, maka, wanderer come to mind immediately)

but you're saying what I want to see - I voted for a quasi longbar dude with asteriks and expos because he had to more effective verse. not a fan of how so many low to mid tier guys now start absorbing the same style which is why I'm all for the outside cats in NBL - be it the narialand guy or split 8's lolz (tbr I thought he won last week lol)
