- go to yakiniku restaurant
- no tipping
- you have to call waiter to table
- exposing the soles of your shoes is impolite
- locals are generally very helpful with foreigners and Americans especially are kind of a novelty
- get translator app for phone
- public baths are common if you wanna check that out
- transportation is excellent there. Buy a 5 day pass.
- get okonomiyaki while in Hiroshima
- visit atom bomb museum
- go to Nara, Osaka and Nagasaki
- stay in capsule hotel and a ryokan
- temples
