I don’t think there’s enough evidence to support any claim as fact

I’d like to see memory testing in cloned animals (does a cloned dog know how to shake/play dead or remember an owner)

I’d assume the mind is just information in the brain. They aren’t the same but are dependent on each other.

it wouldn't work like that. when you clone an animal you basically create a copy. its more of an identical twins scenario. while the animals would share the same dna, they wouldn't live the same life. the cloned animal wouldn't have learned any tricks or have any knowledge of the owner who taught them.

the strange shit comes with memory passed down through ancestry. like cats reacting to cucumbers. elephants knowing where water holes are and countless other examples i can't think of.

shit thats passed on without being communicated.

Is that proven yet in successful cloning?

yea they've been cloning shit mad long. specifically dogs and cats and such.

its literally just dna put in an egg hosted by a surrogate that becomes a new version of the thing

but its a blank slate. the likelihood of the dog even acting the same is different. certain shit will be the same, anything genetic, like prey drive, or propensities to certain moods etc but everything learned would be completely different. and every interaction etc. pushes them off course from the original. if it gets yelled at as a puppy for pissing if the original just got moved or something for example

its basically identical twins. not the same being exactly. the mind is simply how that creature individually perceives the world.
