Quoting Rogan over ominous music for non-ironic effect undercuts the whole thing for me. He's too much of a silly fuck. The verse is good, enjoyed him repeating "I need alcohol to sleep" 6x, added to the honest feeling he was going for. Best part of the song. He tried to fit too many syllables in lines too often. Joe Rogan. 6.1/10 would listen to with Elon Musk.

I feel the subject matter on the Rogan monologue sets a good tone for what follows. If you remove what you know about his personality and just take these snippets as they are.

The brutal honesty in the emcee’s writing and his ability to articulate it is unique. It doesn’t sound contrived.

The production of both this dude’s albums is incredible, for me. It reminds me of El-P a bit, but more industrial/metal/80s techno influenced. Definitely some Kavinsky. It’s a little uncomfortable, and that works with his content.

I agree that the content of the speech is what's relevant to the song, and before I had time to realize exactly who was speaking I was digging it. For the song it's fine but I think it reflects poorly on the artist's taste to use such a sample, and puts me in a position of presuming a lower level of quality of thought incoming.

Running through that song's album. "I Don't Care" is dope as all hell.
