Plus, my son doesn't sleep in my bed...he sleeps in his own, he has never spent a night in my bed, because that's mummy and daddy's personal space...for the first few months of his life he slept in a Moses basket at the foot of the bed, and since then he has been in his own room. If he's sick or had a nightmare or w/e me or my girlfriend will sit with him and comfort him in his own room...never ours.

My wife feels bad about not letting the kids sleep next to her. She keeps saying "we'll never have his moment back" or "they'll never be babies again.". They'll be 2 in the fall, and she's already looking at old FB pics and missing when they were infants.

So she never turns them down when they have want to be our bed. Night after night.
