Consent is not just 'letting it happen' it also requires the mental capacity to be able to fully understand what is happening and give permission for it...that is the legal definition of consent...animals and children do not have this capability, thus it is illegal to have sex with them...grown men do, thus it is legal.

Sex within the animal kingdom is not built around consent, it is purely chemical, purely instinctive, and basically rape by the terms we have set. We are more advanced and therefore require consent...permission, in other words. The ability to think things through and decide whether it is something you want or not...animals do not have this ability, they do not think, even when engaging with their own species 'Do I want this to happen'....they have hormones and react accordingly.

That's like saying, if you like it, it isn't rape.

A child also has the ability to say no, yet we do not argue that even if they let it happen it was consensual because we understand they do not have the cognitive abilities to grasp the situation...it's the same with animals.
