If Thornton is solid throughout and Lundqvist is godly again, that's probably like 60% a cup right there. Obvi weakens our D which is our big strength aside from Hank but it's worth the cup shot IMO. Unless there's something more sustainable that'll allow us to compete for a longer window. Think We can move Thornton and find cap space to replace Stall after the playoffs tho

i agree that staal is dropping like a brick as far as skill goes and would gladly take that trade. doubt SJ would though. also it would tie up $$ we don't have.. it would set up an "all-in" season with MSL and Thornton expiring. if we had better depth from the rookies i could see it, but a pretty good risk if the pressure gets to everyone + thornton doesn't live up to expectations.. i mean, the last rental that did during the regular season was what.. drury? jagr?
