I used to freestyle all the time, and if I had to take a guess about 85% of this was freestyled. IT really is just a fact of refining it everyday. True battle-rap freestylers from PB like no-can and df are really top tier like this guy. The last post said eyedea was the best, he was really good. IT gets to a point where if you have a bunch of things already thought of, and it's usually like common words/phrases. It's really an art. I used to freestyle to the point people thought it was written. If you don't keep it up, it really falls off. Usually when it happens at a high level you have to focus, and there is this thing that some call lock eye, or sometimes people close their eyes so they dont distract themselves. It's really cool. I know a lot of good freestylers. It's always fun to showcase and do things people can't even do when they sit down and write. And yeah, like fig said, some dudes just have like a set of rhymes in their head that can go off some rhymes they do when they freestyle so sometimes when you're like wow how did he do that? it was written! It was, but maybe just like one part of it. But yeah.
