everyone hailing from somewhere we didn’t choose. destined for failure
pressing the brakes a second too late before we collide
causing a pile up. only all the survivors already died
caustic inside, rotten throughout. just another body to count
impact meant someone hit the ground and did not even bounce
unstoppable force, soaking up the shock we absorb
product of more than my environment, but improbable fortune
at one with my thoughts. sending a prayer to whoever’s upstairs
kept me prepared, or at least more so than my enemies fared…
