Default “The Old Gods Are Dead?”

The Prelude

Their kingdoms have fallen and all that is left
is the arrogant Monkey, Bastet and Ganesh
Whom all escaped death by the skin of their teeth
When Western crusaders invaded the East
And labeled their neighbors as pagan believers
In name of their Jesus they slaughtered the lambs
All martyrs were damned, then sentenced to die
Along with their sons, and daughters and wives
An awful demise, though lawful in eyes of angels and zealots
Who fell down from Heaven with flames on their weapons
Expecting to battle false idol pretenders, defiers and sinners
Who lied to their people denying the Scripture
The mighty empires of China and Egypt, and India, too
Were finally ended by Christian pursuits
Whom secretly sought the source of the power all pantheons drew…
From human devotion and worshipping mobs — ambrosia to “gods” —
Its nectar was sweet and Yahweh and Jesus expected to eat
As much as they could! Gluttonous beast? Or misunderstood?
See, deities spring from prayerful emissions
Like fears, and our hopes, and major ambitions
They craved our attention like moths to a flame
But Christian blood baths have washed out their reigns
Now all that remains is 3 refugee gods who wander the plane
Where Gaia is crying and filling the sea with chaotic waves
That rip through the beach

To be continued…
