soaking all his miracles in litres of wine

look me in the eyes and tell me everything's fine
when sickness is politicized as health is declining
in rapid succession. TV told us being fat is a blessing
shake it like a salt shaker with a basket of fries
passive retiree on a mission to dismantle his pride
through a series of sensationalized semantic alignments
cast to the side. every single year that passes us by
it's more & more clear that i'm the last of my kind

hang me off a ledge and help me recall
what kept me here at all. sentimental memory log

our adventures, our songs
our self-recollections after all the whiskey was gone
