What the hell happened to David Lama?

I was going through some old backup's and come across this gem, during the height of the "war" between B-Boys and BragginWrites, where money started being offered for champing text leagues:

It made me wonder what happened to Lama?

The story as far as I remember is that the Netcees.com domain or board expired and he just disappeared. There was then a scramble to set up a new board, which is this one.

A lot of people have quit text or just stopped posting but his dedication was next level.
