That’s it. If there was some all powerful deity that desired worship from everybody, he’d likely not appear to disseminate his message in literally the most illiterate, savage spot in the world. Why not go to China, where they already had a written language and were documenting history? Nah, let’s go to this illiterate desert. To believe that, you must concede that God is both all-powerful and a complete idiot too. It just doesn’t jibe with me.
I mean, if Jesus shows up and is like “Des, I’m real,” I’d probably be a little more open to it, but honestly, first I would assume that I’ve lost my sanity. It’s just a much more plausible possibility.
