![]() Week 10 Topic
This week's topic is random country week. Point to a place on a world map, placing your index finger over a random country, and write a poem about it. The point of this exercise is to learn more about other countries, cultures and geographies, as well as to test yourself and your writing abilities to see if you can convey the "identity" or "mood" of that country convincingly. Some questions to consider before or while writing your pieces: What light should I paint the country in: negatively, positively, or neutrally? If a citizen from that country read my poem, would they think it genuine or bogus? What must I learn about this country's history, reputation, or projected future? Am I going to focus more on the physical landscape of the country rather than its population or its human legacy? I found a useful map here: http://www.yoel.info/world_outline_m...yalty_free.gif Good luck & remember... have fun with it. Don't forget to vote on battles plrz.
