Intro: The No Show Continues
Last week was terrible..
It was the first week of championship and contendorship matches, and the first champ match was won by no show. We had 11 of you drop verses, but only 3 battles were able to recieve votes. I don't see whats so difficult about dropping 10 lines a week, I understand that occasionally shit happens but you can chalk up the majority of no shows thus far to laziness. Even with the due date being moved back a day nothings changed. A lot of you have signed out (more on this later) this past week so maybe new blood will help improve the situation. Historically we've had 1 week where nearly all of you show up followed by a week of no shows. This leads me to believe that this week should equate to a good showing, but with the league at an all time low in terms of participation, only 17 of you are signed in this week, who knows what will happen. One things for sure - the show must continue.. but hopefuly not the no show!

Battle Reviews

Top Ten:

Championship Match: 1. Te Ora (4-0) vs. 2. da big glassman (3-1)
da big glassman was very sick in this match, but not the kind of sick that wins battles. He no showed and allowed Te Ora to gain his fifth win on the trot, by default.

Contendorship Match: 3. presyce (3-0) vs. 4. Dilated Eyes (2-2)
A battle that went right down to the wire. Neither showed very strong at all, and voters had a hard time deciding who was more mediocre. Dilated won this 3-2 on a swing vote, but who knows what the outcome may have been if more of you had bothered to vote?

5. Fletcha (2-2) vs. 6. ThaMenace (3-1)
Fletcha was too busy talking shit in Dodg.. I mean doing ‘coursework’ and was unable to find time to drop against ThaMenace. Menace requested the extension, dropped a decent verse and got the win by default.

7. JonJonOyes (2-2) vs. 8. Joe Native (2-2)
Decent battle. Joe dropped well before Jon, giving Jon the golden opportunity to catch him sleeping. However he failed to take advantage of this and while he had a few cool concepts his execution left a lot to be desired. Joe scooped all the votes in this one and claimed his third win.

9. Misunderstood (1-0) vs. 10. Fohkus (3-1)
Fohkus caught Misunderstood on the comeback trail as he looked to rebound from a controversial loss to Te Ora a week prior. Misunderstood was trying out a new steez, and this inexperience may have cost him the win against a more comfortable Fohkus. Fohkus won this one by a few votes and looked fatigue as he signed out.

ABL:

11. MC J3RSEY (1-3) vs. 12. Godsplan (0-0)
Godsplan was keen to catch an underperforming J3RSEY on the hop, but a major calendar malfunction robbed him of making his first bout back a success. J3RSEY took this one by default and got his season back on track.

13. MIC REKKIN BASTARD (2-2) vs. 14. Pyr0 (0-4)
Pyr0 must’ve been staying at Godsplans house, as he too failed to show. He didn’t check in until the last day, where upon MRB told him off and took the win by default. MRB signed out and continues participation in the league in a reporter capacity.

15. Franchise (1-3) vs. 16. sp!tf!r3 (2-2)
Franchise had the chance to rub salt into the wound of sp!tf!r3, who came into this off a shock loss to Dilated, but failed to capitalise. He too no showed (AGAIN!) and sp!t claimed the win by default.

17. doodydean (1-2) vs. 18. War Machine. (0-0)
No one knew who War Machine was coming into this one and they still won’t after he failed to turn up for his first ABL match. doodydean showed and it was enough to give him a 50-50 record.
